Derp. You know what - I've quoted that rule before claiming that it stops you from bypassing your primary IDs rule set and had Hielor prove me wrong by quoting it. Shame on me for forgetting that and shame on me for not double checking before I claimed a rule prevented something.
The rule you quoted doesn't prevent you from bounty hunting so long as the Merc ID is your secondary ID and is equipped on the ships that will be doing the hunting. The purpose of the secondary ID is to allow this very thing - but also to prevent official factions from using secondary IDs to obtain technology not usable by their primary ID.
Funny thing is, I'm almost positive Zelot was also involved in that discussion awhile back too. Perhaps ya should read the rules 'lot? I know I am going to give them another one over before I hand out any more rule advice - looks like you need to as well.
Vey - my question is retracted. :PI see no reason that you'd have to pick one ID or the other when the rules allow for you to have both. So why ask which you'd give up? No reason!

Bad timing to answer my praise, as the situation a few minutes ago was not good and your answer directed my attention here. The contrast made me post, while I normally would not post.
Hiding somewhere below plane after cleaning half the system of indies, then when officials come to do their job of protecting their indies (we were only 3...) you hide and taunt from off the plane. That's lame and not what I am used to.
Enjoy the "no interaction" you created by that decision.
if we were doing the same all the time, it wouldn't be fun, anyway some of the players we were about to go... being stuck in a fight that can last for long, no matter the final result, well affects RL matters, anyway, you cannot go this way for a single ocassion that happens this stuff, anyway any feedback is appreciated, but this time some of us as said, we had RL things to attend..., so the obvious choice was to get away...
