Ceoran, your point is a good one. But the registry solution shifts the work around and possibly changes its nature, it does not eliminate it.

Well, If there's a centralized place for all requests to post, you can check them far easier though instead of checking up on each ship you encountered ingame if it's a lolwut or not. But I don't insist on the part of putting it into faction leader control, just control it somehow.
Let's take the outcasts for example, they get blamed all the time anyways. Most of the time you'll see more Sarissas and Ranseurs in Alpha than fighters, even if you count the NPCs too. The gunships go pirating all around and the Destroyers are just a step on the ladder on their way up to their own bs/dread.
That's a well known ooRP situation with the outcasts supposed to only have a few caps at all and the 101st get blamed for it. Yet everyone immediately starts yelling at us if we even show slight interest in doing something about it. And if we dare to do something we get bitched at and threatened by former Admins with severe consequences.
Now, all we can do right now is taking 5-10 screenshots of each incident, upload them and write a context into the report, which easily takes 30-60 minutes. If there was an admin-backed registry we could simply take 1 single screenshot and write one or two lines about it. Easier to fill, easier to process.

A limitations is needed, The admins here hve probably read through this (I hope) and taken the communitys thoughts into considderation.

Limiting the use of capitals -should- be the right of every offocial faction with corospondance to the ships they can "hand out"

That's a small part of my opinion. Can we hear from people who aren't going to bite at one another's throats? Maybe a couple of admins to hear anything that may or may not be happening in the background ?

I think limiting stuff to certain players is only going to cause equal or more bickering at each other.

Just then it wont be "YOU ARE LOLWHUT ONLY I CAN DO THAT YOU CANT DO IT BECAUSE UR A NOOB" anymore, it will be "YOU ARE CORRUPT BASTARD WHY DONT YOU LET EVERYONE HAVE FUN AND QUIT KEEPING ALL THE GOOD STUFF FOR YOURSELF".

Apart from that, it was already said several time by Igiss et al that restricing caps wont happen.

The only solution is...

Rebalance caps so they cant be abused.

Drop the 10k is fleeing rule between caps and non caps.

Then every supernoob who tries to jump a superhero elite guy who is in a light fighter will be totally screwed... because thes superhero elite guy knows that he can easily just get away in his fighter.

This is the situation that everyone who screems "CAP ABUSE!!!!1" is citing as an example.

Never lead it really, mainly was a 3rd in command for most of the time. So yes, if you want you can bring up the [ESS] and any of my current ships in OC space, all it does is confirm I have seen more.

People mis-behave in caps... they'll do it in fighters.

You want to decrease the cap population?

How about you factions stop parading your caps around. That would cut down on quite a few.

How about you stop calling on those same indies you complain about whenever you get into a jam? Stop giving caps something to do and voila you'll quite a few more disappear.

How about getting your members to stop flying around in their indie caps? About a quarter the cap population drops then.

How about you report those so called problem ships or even try and explain to them what they are doing wrong? Try not barking orders and attempting to boss people around you'd be surprised how receptive people are.

How about factions utilize FR 2 and 5? Whoops there goes another couple caps.


I'm sure other people can think of more ways to potentially decrease capital ship numbers without granting official factions even more power over indies. But ALL other options should be exhausted (and the situation obsevred from the point of view of all the factions with caps) before granting official factions such power.

Cause lets be honest, an official faction with only six active members being able to decided what type of ship several dozen (or even hundreds) of players (of the same NPC faction) may pilot is laughable... at best.

At first I srsd, then I srsd some more, then I lold, and then I just realised it's a game and I just want to have fun.

How ever, from a Roleplayers point of view, who's been here a little while, I can firmly say that I approve this.. Thing..

How ever, I can also say for sure that it will never happen..

Then choose members to act as judges, basing their experiences with RP and stories and what not to see if the person application is good enough to handle a battleship.

This last group I think would work best if for example lead by an admin, but the rest can be random members that the admins can choose themselves.

Choose 9 people, if they accept they will rule on the request.

This way it's not factionlancer and the admins wont have TO much more to do..
