I think it depends on the Season, the faction activity grows up and get low only to grow up again... lets give this as an example: I dont see the [|] flyng too much nowadays but if some one starts to play with [KNF] or ]bd[ the guys from [|] will start to play too, they will get spirited by the possibility of a good RP, and you will see a boom of these faction. Correct me if i'm wrong but seens that it just depends on the "season" like I said.
They run without tags, which can make judging their activity hard. The only tagged members you'll see are special utility / shared ships, and trainees in Daggers (like myself). Given that once you're a member you're privy to the names of other members, you can see that they are pretty active. Usually people will fly about in pairs, often more.

True, you can also see how they are if you keep an eye on Magellan activity.
Heh, I just finished posting about this issue, may as well drop it here.
We all consider our own factions active pretty much, even if others don't. You should just ask an admin about the activity figures as we can't measure constant activity through the eyes of a simple user. Also, the definition of what active exactly means would be desired as well.
I can say (hopefully others agree with me so it's without bias) that in Rheinland, the RHA, the RM and lately the RFP are the most active. I rarely see anyone else around. The AGS has one very active player, others tend to show for events. Same applies to the Volksfront, 1-2 active players and I feel responsible for that in part. Official corporate factions are rarely seen, not within Rheinland at least.

Yes, If you ask an Admin politely, you can be given a link to check your factions activity. It is updated everyday automatically. It shows last time logged in, as well as ingame flight times.
