I'd also like to know if none of those version made it, then what did.
Well, even if they say that even ONE of those made it, it might change. If they ARE serious considerations, I'd like only the third idea.
Corsairs have nothing new, and the current beautiful and unique Coalition line got replaced by ugly and "casual" ones. So sad. The OC Dread is so so so <3-able.

It all depends on what people wanna model. Factions only get new ships when someone decides that they want to make a new ship.
The Coalition snub craft had problems with hitboxes and so needed replacement.
with the new hitbox methods - the hitbox "problems" could have been fixed though. - but lets face it ... the ships ... while looking very good ... offered a very large front profile - a disadvantage for a game where players are used to joust rather than try to get to the opponents rear.
they were hard to balance - if balanced to be OK in a joust, they would have turned terribly awesome in groups. if balanced for groups - they d be comparativly easy targets in a joust. the new ships are daggers - which are easier to balance.
about models
it was said before ( multiple times ) - in order to get to work and deliver good results - a modeller needs to :
- actually like the faction modelling for ( thats why modelling for money only "really" works when the modeller feels a certain positive empathy for the faction anyway )
- know the factions lore well enough - or have been involved in making up the lore. - ( thats not totally important for a good model - but it sure helps )
- have a good idea.
factions that often don t get much "model love" are :
- factions that are a major pain and disrupt the community ( if a faction gets negativly flagged - you ll find less ppl putting work into it ... up to a point... at some point it becomes an efford to "safe" the faction from oblivion ( see BHG in 4.83 ) )
- factions with popular members in that are unsympathetic to modellers ( thats natural - you don t "give" stuff to ppl you don t like .... after all... its no charity here ... the currency payed for dev work is called "genuine appreciation" )
- factions that don t benefit many ( see what the currency is )
- factions that were defined by other modellers and are hard to imitate - unless the design is fully re-created - which is a lot of work
