' Wrote:Aside from that, it gets alittle annoying to deal with denying people's requests. They often show the same type of argumentativeness over it as you are right now. It's tiresome to have to get in a fight every time you say no, so now we just preemptively say no.
That's not a very good reason to close tech requests. I get annoyed with constant requests for Rogue Gunboats and Sammaels and such as well, but as a faction leader it's my responsibility to hear them all out and then decide whether or not I'll give someone the tech.
If that's your reason to make an in-RP decision to not hand out any more Corsair tech, then Hexx is right, and you don't really deserve to run a faction.
Oh, and it won't stop people from asking for stuff either, so you didn't really accomplish anything.
' Wrote:That's terribly elitist. Not to mention that ooRP requests should simply not exist. Otherwise if Zelot's hot girlfriend IRL (yay for Zelot!) wants to fly her noRP ship with Tizzies, she can. That's the very definition of abuse.
You don't understand the difference between in-RP and oorp tech requests properly if you think that's how it works.
A good example of oorp tech agreements is the Crossbone faction, they use LR/Molly ships, in-RP they're stolen and don't have permission to use them, but they still have been granted white cell permissions.
Another example of an oorp permission that I have made was for several Hellfire Legion ships that had been RPed a long time ago, but permissions were not added for them. In-RP the Rogues would never give the HF a Scylla, but the permission for them is oorp.
Just because permissions may be oorp, it doesn't mean there is no RP.

A Corsair ID'd player is not restricted to Corsair space. They are free to go to Rheinland, Bretonia, Kusari, and I've seen them in Liberty but I'm not sure if they should be there. I remember hearing that they could be there to trade, or visit but not pirate.
Thus, the role play for your character can be fulfilled with the Corsair ID.
' Wrote:Perhaps because you've no role play to support such an exception?
Do you? If they are indeed still allowing exceptions, then great! I applaud Zelot especially for his open mind, as it is usually guarded by big burly bouncers with snarky voices 24/7.
If it's confused, I never submitted anything to them. This topic isn't about me.

And I disagree.
But yea, choose only one of the many reasons listed and make a comment like that, it's cool. The day the admins say I -have- to give out tech is probably the day I withdraw TBH's official status.

No, I don't. If I want Corsair guns, I'll play a Corsair. I'll let the role play of that character develop and go from there.
I never said it was about you. You used yourself as an example, I went with it.

I see that as RP, not ooRP. I guess the definitions were just confused.

Think what you like, but as per the character's RP, she was a merc. Whatever opinion you may have otherwise is void, because it's not your character and your understanding of her is not the same as mine.
And besides, I specifically said that this topic is not about my character. Please discontinue talking about her.

Love the sparkling commentary as always, Zel.
And I don't particularly enjoy you, Snak3. You frequently troll my topics, and I don't appreciate it. Also, the points you've brought up have been addressed within my replies to other people, just not to you directly.

Right, because I don't explain my reasoning for the 7th time, you want to make some comment about my commentary, as if I have not explained my viewpoint. I tire of people who think an issue is not over until -they- say it's over.
All this thread has done is reenforce my feelings about this issue. In fact, I will say this very clearly for you, I have no intention of changing my factions current policy regarding tech use. Keep talking all you want.
