It has been over a year since President Connors first contacted the Government, although we have had a prosperous trade relationship and cooperation between the Military and your Armed Forces in that time. I am Maxamillion Wolf, Supervisor of Borderworlds Exports, otherwise known as Bowex. The management has passed this on to my office, so i will help you as best i can.

I will begin by expressing our interest, that of Bowex, in what proposals you may bring to the proverbial table, as it where. Now, before we can proceed, we will await the reply of the Government and see their own interest in this, before we begin making any rash decisions, but we would like to see what you have to offer, perhaps present it here to us and the Government? But i digress...

I was also asked to ask you, why are we included in this message? What are we needed for here? Bowex is happy to make trade deals, but in addressing the Government and our sister company, Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing, we feel it may be more than just a trade agreement. Again, this is something you could perhaps explain to us all, as i am sure the Government will ask similar things of you.

I'll keep the channel open to all three parties, and if I put across my point well enough then I hope you all will agree with the method. While of course organised by their respective boards, Bowex and BMM are nationalised corporations of the Crown. Some of the propositions I seek to put forth would be heavily based on the actions of your two corporations, while approved and supported by the government. The scant details in my initial transmission were to keep it simply for introductions. While I do not bear gifts on this occasion, I believe Prime Minister Maloney still has some of our fine Borneo brandy in his possession. On the final note of that, Mister Anders will be fine; "minister" is my position rather than a title.

The Prime Minister mentioned "taming the frontier", which has been quite the speciality of ours since leaving Sol almost a millennium ago. Crayter, our work with Planetform, Borneo and now Yuma all being of note, and concerning the latter there have been some great strides of progress. In the coming months we should be able to permanently overcome the veracious plant-life and begin large-scale colonisation of the planet. The... aptly-named Colonial Authority of Bowex has its experience with Port Jackson, and the efforts in Omega-3 with our small part are also going well.
Our economies have benefited with mutual cooperation, and I believe now is the perfect time for further entwinement. As I mentioned, there will soon be 'prime real estate' available on Yuma and Sprague with room for industrial development along with the population space. Despite previous problems with this issue and Bretonia, there are many skilled Colonial workers without jobs and few industries in Coronado; I am sure you can put two and two together, if you are interested.

One of the industries that we are strong in is the design and construction of ships. Bretonia (Mining & Metals, specifically) and the Republic own some of the most advanced shipyards in the area, perhaps the two, once Sabah is fully constructed and operational. I do not know how well the discussions between my elder brother and your Admiralty, but one of the propositions was for a mutual technology exchange. While civilian ships are not as... formal to arrange, I would also propose opening our civilian vessel markets to each other, in a limited manner if it is preferable to you.

I am Stan Graham, current spokesman for the board of directors of BMM. First of all, let me apologize for the lack of swiftness this response had, but it was difficult to get a board meeting together as we had a lot of members occupied with the recent changes in management.

Now, are interested in your offer and believe that co-operation could be very financially beneficial in a long-term perspective. But with what's already been said, we need to clarify that we have an ethical responsibility to move as many as we can of the Bretonian refugees from Leeds and keep them in our employment. We are willing to assign BMM owned areas on Sprague for Colonial residences, for a price of course, but they will have to be a secondary goal I'm afraid.

As for opening our civilian vessel markets towards each other, we will assign a task group on Southampton for trading blueprints and ideas should the government agree with your (and our) opinion. Combining technological findings, even on the simple plane, will help in making our technology superior to the croaking Gallic bastards. Of course we already produce some of the most advanced weaponry and shipbuilding which don't seem to be surpassed by Republic shipyards as of now, so we must ask for a fee here as well based on how many and what degree of innovations are made. I hope you understand that we must take every bit of help we can get in these dire times.

Colonial citizens would also be allowed to buy civilian BMM made ships at standard freelance prize, and we'd ask the same in return. I hope that you find all this reasonable.

I thank you for the positive response Mr. Graham, it is a pleasure to see that BMM is willing to work with us.

I understand your wishes to ensure your own people's well-being, as that is also the intent of my proposals in an industrial cooperation between Sprague and Yuma.
The Colonial population is much smaller than any house planet's, and we Crayterians are once more only a small part of that. We have refugees, repatriated slaves and many people from all the houses who share our ideals. There are many Bretonians who now have Colonial citizenship, but I do not look to have such serious proceedings put in place here. We have workers who are looking for jobs, many of them skilled, while your Government and their corporations have a large industrial weight that we understand Bretonia has prided itself over for centuries.
As the building efforts on Sprague continue, having Colonial citizens eligible for employment in new opportunities that are not automatically filled by your current workforce would be what I would ask, along with housing to save... commuting. A fair wage as any would expect, part of which would be used to pay for said housing. If the Republic can fund the construction of assigned housing for our people, that would be the preferred option.
On Yuma, my particular sector would be of course, agriculture - the planet is obviously well suited for plant growth and this will end our need to import most of our food. This would provide some jobs available for both Colonials (although admittedly most are used to fishing from the seas of Borneo) and perhaps those who wish 'for a change of scenery' from Cambridge for one reason or another.
We have enough to extract and process the minerals on the planet and the Guild would be able to make up for any shortfall in that department. Either corporation's industrial expertise in using those minerals would open up the opportunity for a (subsidised on our part) presence there, employing our people for the most part.

I will pass the welcome news on opening our transport markets to the people at Colonial Defence Industries, who may either be contacted for individual ships or some kind of exchange. Either way, our use of Shires and your own of the Atlas and Celestra can be organised where their captains choose to do so.
I'll leave it to the Military and Sabah dockmasters to debate the merits of our respective nations' technology.

Hopefully some great progress and benefit can be drawn from this, this should move forward well.

To begin with, Housing and Job placements. Job placements can be covered by us, and I am sure our sister company will have their own opinion on this, but it is decided that Colonial Citizens will have every right to apply, and work within, the Borderworlds Exports corporation. As for housing, thats one for the Government to discuss with you. I'm sure there shouldn't be a problem, but do remember that what remains is being given to Leeds refugees as a priority.

As for the food production on Yuma. With the current Refugees all being moved away from Leeds, to any where we can spare, we would gladly accept what food you can send our way. It's better to prepare for a shortage than to leave the people to starve, I'm sure the Government agrees here.

Now then, on to the point which i assume is your reasoning for contacting us. Ship trading. I must admit, my interest is piqued at the prospect of flying something new, but to begin i must correct you on something. Whilst BMM produces the Shire, Shetland, Percheron and Clydesdale models of freighters and transports, it is actually the discretion of Bowex as to the sale of such vessels. Now, after discussion with the Directors and Managers here at Bowex, we have come to an Offer we find more than fair. We worked out that the Shire and Clydesdale would come to a closely equal amount of Cargo space as to that between the Atlas and Celestra transports. Now i must admit, we did plan to originally offer a Shire and Percheron Transport offer, but upon leaning of your lack of a freighter, we decided that you could have nothing finer than a Clydesdale, as your first Freighter, and future Freighter of choice. So, here is our offer:

• We offer you One Shire class Battle Transport, Free of charge
  
• We offer you One Clydesdale Class Freighter, Free of charge
  

In return, we ask from you:

• One Atlas Class Colonial Transport, Free of charge
  
• One Celestra Class Colonial Armed Transport, Free of charge
  

The deal is that:

• The Shire and Clydesdale will be sent to Sabah shipyards for testing by Colonial Engineers.
  
• The Atlas and Celestra will be sent to Scarborough Station in the Newcastle system for testing by a joint team of Bowex and BMM engineers.
  

Upon testing completion, the stated ships will be given "field testing", use in convoys, and if possible, we will test how well defended they are against potential attackers. If all testing proves well, and we find a work around of the potential power loss on our respective technology combinations, then we can work a more permanent contract, allowing the usage of more ships, and even opening up the allowance of the Percheron and Shetland if you so wish. If you agree to these terms, please notify us here, and we will begin moving a Shire and Clydesdale for you.

The Management sees this as entirely reasonable, and I feel it is to. I think that with the acceptance of this contract, with the possibility of a future revision in mind, we could begin some good work between our respective nations. I look forward to reading your reply, as well as the reply of the government, and look forward to working with your, what was it again, ah yes, "Colonial Movers". For now though,

I'm glad that there is opportunity for at least part of my wishes with Sprague to come to fruition. If there is space not being used exclusively for Leeds refugees and their housing (I hear it is rather a large planet) we have some effective designs in modular ground shelters to fund our people's accommodation. The offer of jobs is welcomed nonetheless.

My understanding was that Cambridge met the needs of you people, but once we have our infrastructure in-place there should be a surplus available.

Onto the ships, I do apologise for the confusion in your corporations' roles. However, being able to keep it as an exchange between Sabah and Southampton will streamline things considerably. I'll give word for CDI to have our transports prepared and to expect yours coming in, and I expect they'll be able to get some results with the power issues. If the Movers can be convinced to make a change, the field testing will go without significant problems; they're a resourceful lot.
