It's been a while, hasn't it? With the flood of new technologies hitting the market not more than 18 months ago, we've each been busy in our respective fields. I hope it has turned you a good profit as it has done us.
But alas, the reason I contact you is of no joyful matter. We have a dire situation upon our remote outpost of Fosters Station, deep within Liberty Rogue territory known simply as 'Cassini'.
Now, I don't dare ask if you know of it, ours is not to question why. However, you pose to be in the perfect position to be able to follow up on the station with more success than us. I am requesting that you send a search party out to determine what happened to the last evacuation convoy, and if anyone remains on station. It is of grave importance to us that all our staff are accounted for and the families of those that, heaven forbid, did not make are informed and supported with the right information and insurance policies.
In return for these services, you can have that confounded station. It has served nothing more than a haven for the odd mad scientist and delirious star gazers. If our people have evacuated, then it is all yours.
I do implore you respond as fast as possible, lives are at stake.
I am Adam Wayland from the Junkers Congress. First, I am sorry, because I did not ask approval from my superiors for this operation, but as you said, this was an urgent matter. I picked up your transmission earlier this morning, and I decided to make a quick response. I gathered the necessary supplies and arrived to Foster not much later.
Me and my crew entered the base. Life support was on-line, the base was properly pressurized and the atmosphere was optimal, so the base itself was not hit in a raid. We roamed the empty halls of the complex, and finally found your missing crew in the medbay area.
According to their story, their ship was hit by a stray shot in a fight that broke out between Xenos and Rogues in the proximity of the Colorado jumphole. The five-man crew managed to escape in their pods, were picked up by a Junker patrol, and was shipped back to the base for treatment. Unfortunately one pod got damaged and the crew member sadly passed away in the medbay later.
I picked up the crew and the body, and safely delivered them to Pittsburgh. Your staff took care of them there. The rest of your Foster crew should already have left the base and should have got back to core Liberty space by now, as only this one ship was hit as your crew told me.
The station lies abandoned for now, only a few Junker patrols dock there to have a rest. The fate of the station is still to be decided by my superiors.
That is all I can report on this matter.
