A week ago, due to some personal reasons, Mr. Wood has resigned from the Chief Security Officer position. He is still active but only as security officer. As you may know, this position requires someone who has extraordinary fighting skills and... cold blood in veins.
I admit that during this time, at its recommendation, I watched your activity with deep interest and it seems that you are an outstanding officer. Leading the Security Department is not an easy task but I'm sure you can handle it. Therefore, I would like to ask if you are interested to take this position.
If you will accept my offer, the promotion will become effective on March, 24th 821 A.S. and in the same day you will receive the access data to our "Board of Directors" communication channel.
Thank you and I am looking forward to receiving your reply.

Madame CEO,
I'm flattered. I think. While I'm grateful for the offer, I'm not sure I'm the right person for this position. I simply don't have the experience I'd need to do the job justice. Managing a battlecruiser's very different from running a security division. That, and I think I'll tear my hair out if I have to deal with the public again. I'm sure me running around half-bald wouldn't be ideal for any of us.
However; if there's no-one else available for the position, I could step in on a purely temporary basis to keep things ticking over until we're able to find someone suited to the job. Once that was done, I'd be happy to hang around as an assistant or drop back into the cockpit - whatever suited.
I'm not sure if this is the right time to bring this up, but I've been doing some thinking on our security wing. With the Navy essentially shooting down any chance of rolling out Defiants any time soon, I've been trying to come up with another solution to our long range escort/scouting dilemma. Funnily enough, it looks like the solution might've been close to home after all. I think the Democritus class could be modified relatively easily to act as a long range scout, particularly with the cargo space we'd have to play with without passenger quarters. It won't have quite the punch of a gunboat, but that's not necessarily a bad thing if we're looking at using it for recon anyway. Something that looks like a transport's a lot less likely to draw the sort of attention that'd merit gunboat weaponry. It's early days yet but with your permission, I'd like to secure a single Democritus to test in that capacity. I'm thinking of naming them after birds of prey, if the idea takes off. OS&C|Harrier would be the first proverbial cab off the rank.

Good day Ms. Tyler,
Sorry for the long silence but I've been quite busy lately with some administrative tasks. I totally understand your point of view regarding my proposal to promote you as Chief Security Officer and I agree with you. Indeed, this job require an involvement more than just a simple officer.
But due to your outstanding skills in combat, weaponry and survival, you have been selected to take part in our Elite Personnel, as "First Officer". You will find here all resposibilities for this job. Please note that the First Officer has no executive power but you have access to "Board of Directors" channel. Also, until we find a CSO, you will be in charge to the Security Department.
About... OS&C|Harrier. You have permission to modify a "Democritus" class vessel, to act as a long range scout. Definitely, you have more knowledge than me on this subject. If you don't have access to this type of vessel, please let me know and I will commence one, shortly.
Now with that said, I would like to wish you good luck and will be available for any questions related to the position of "First Officer".
