The Goodwill family were an extraordinary bunch, by Outcast standards. They spent a majority of their time in space liners and heavily researched the negative effects of cardamine (behind closed doors) despite the constant praise that the Orange had received.
Their bonds were tight and built upon faith rather than money. Their security could down Cruisers if needed and Logistics could smuggle Scientists under the nose of the Dons and they wouldn't even know it. The Goodwills were a confusion to understand. Lawfuls by nature but unlawful by the Outcasts.
Interestingly enough, what brought the entire Goodwill Operation down was the heir to the heroic glory, Julian.
Chapter 1 - Birth
Julian was born on the refitted Prisoner Liner that held the highest of the Goodwills and their assets. The once Liberty branded 'OBEY AND REFORM' was painted over carefully with 'We're reformed' and 'Try again next time' in classic writing, quite fetching. The dark skinned hulls were stripped and replaced with a cream wallpaper and the metal tables and gloomy prison cells were replaced with high end, Bretonian and Maltese furniture, making the entire scene 'an exquisite feast for the eyes', as his father had always described it.
But there was always something off. They could paint over the blood, pain and torture, but it'd always be there. No matter the amount of classic tables, finely stitched pillow slips, aromatic scented candles and sprigs of lavender could cleanse the countless souls that suffered the rough side of the Liberty Law.
Sometimes, Julian would take walks down the cursed corridors and hear the calls of the previous inmates
"I don't deserve to be here!"
"I was baited into that ship! I swear!"
"Please! I have a wife and kids!"
Chills shot up like fireworks through his body whenever these phrases echoed into his mind.
Perhaps, it was these experiences that forced Julian to end the undercover activities. Some theory this as he watched from the bridge as their bodies were shot out of the escape pods, their bodies collapsing as they met their doom.
As required by the family, Julian began attending school at 5 years old, expressing a large interest in maths and business. As the days passed on, Julian's interests only became stronger as he progressed through school, he was incredibly smart, usually having precise study patterns and devious plots to hijack other student's tests to gain an upper hand in the competition that was school.
It seemed harmless, so the teachers merely administered a small punishment for bucking the system. They wouldn't have guessed that it would have became a serious issue. But then again, Julian was an expert in being subtle.
