Vessel history:The Luxury Liner Mariana, as christened on the date of construction, May 18, 752 A.S., was one of the many Liners utilized by the rapidly growing company Orbital Spa and Cruise. Like all liners, its primary duty was to service the ever growing vacation, passenger, and VIP demand, especially those wishing to go into the border worlds, were pirates wait around every corner.
For this is what caused the fate of the Mariana. Late in 798 A.S., the Mariana was on a scheduled trip to Freeport 11 in the Omicron Delta system to pick up passengers and VIP dignitaries from a recent Zoner scientific expedition, when it was struck by a Corsair pirate group and left floating as a wreck in Omega-41.
Years later, in 821 A.S., a young individual by the name of Sean Roberts happened upon the wreck while flying his salvager, the JM|-Massive.Profits. Sean decided to tow the wreck to the nearest freeport to attempt to scavenge anything of value off of it, but he then realized that, beyond damage to the engine and cargo hold, the ship was relatively intact. He, and another individual of the Junker Marauders named "Andy McNab", decided to haul it back to Beaumont Base, in the Texas system.
The "Freedom Liner", now re-christened after Roberts and McNab had a scuffle with Navy personnel harassing them for "being junkers", is still moored in more or less one piece at Beaumont Base. While the ship is still being worked on by Roberts and crew, it will no doubt be seen flying among the stars sooner or later.
