Well, I am finally ready to try my first battleship, a Britonian BS. I have been flying around with cruisers and noticed the stock BS weapons consume massive energy with not much more damage output (and sometimes less) than a fighter's code name weapon. In fact, I do not see much improvement of BS weapons over cruiser or even Gunship and I can fire those from a BS forever without running out of energy. I have been putting Chain Gun Solaris turrets mixed with cruiser turrets and missles on my cruisers and was trying to figure out what to put on my Battleship.
I was thinking 4 Solaris, 4 Nomad turrets, 1 BattleRazor, 1 Inferno cannon and either 2 missles or maybe mortars (or just 8 Nomad turrets).
I have not ever been in a PvP fight, mostly fighting pirates and Nomads and the Solaris/Cruiser turret combo works well for this but am looking to try my hand in a few PvP. Is this a good set-up?
All you Battleship drivers, let me know what you think and what you use.
(Staying away from Osiris, I want to join a house faction and role play with this guy.) New battleship will be named Poseidon, currently he is a Luxury Liner gathering funds to grow into a BS.
Also, I have a Kusari Cruiser looking for a Kusari related faction, a Rheinland Cruiser looking for rheinland faction and a Huegeont that is allied with Corsairs looking for a little mischeif making and pirating faction.

Most people I've seen or fought have at least 2, sometimes 4, inferno cannons, 4 mortars and probably the missiles the ship comes with. The rest are usually energy turrets.
As for factions, you can only join 1 faction that owns a system or systems.
Which means you'll have to pick out of the DVL = kusari, RM = rheinland, SF = britonia.
Otherwise if the faction doesn't own a system you can join as many of them as you like.
The only pirate factions I know of are the NovaPG, who are invite only (at least I think so..), or tains GCB, so you'd have to ask him.
The phantoms are not pirates they are terrorists, a mistake alot of people keep making.
Unfortunately there are no house factions that don't own a system.

He said in his first post he had a kusari destroyer that he wanted in a kusari faction, a rhienland cruiser that he also wants in a rheinland faction and his britonian BS (once he gets it) in a britonian faction.
I have my Britonian BS (Poseidon). He is gong to role-play on Britonia Faction. It has currently:
4 Chain Gun Solaris (for pesky fighters),
4 Corsair BS turrets (for added firepower and quick refire on fighters), and
4 Nomad turrets (for cap-ships).
I cannot seem to place the guns evenly on each side. I tried putting them in the slots in this order: 2 solaris, then 2 corsair, the 2 nomad, and then the reverse for the back of the ship and all the Nomad turrets ended up on the left side, the Corsair on the rear and the solaris on the right side. Is there a way to select the location a gun goes into?
Obviously, this has not turned out to be a great set-up, any suggestions? Am I better off with the stock guns it comes with? Are there better gun load-outs out there? Should I replace some turrets with missles, Mortars, Battlerazors, Inferno Cannons? This set-up drains my power very fast, I am afraid I could only get 3-4 shots off with the bigger guns before running out of power.
I read posts about Kusari turrets doing more shield damage....Britonia missles have higher damage...etc. I have looked at all the missles and BS turrets, they look the same from each house. The cruiser turrets will list different damage amounts from each house but the BS guns seem the same. Am I missing something?

Updates on Factions.
Successfully got my Kusari cruiser in =DVL= he is getting name changed to =DVL=DragonKnight from Shaddowen.
Awaiting response from [RM] to get Rheinland cruiser into [RM].
Poseiden would like to join SF.
CruiserDoc is looking for a faction in borderworlds. He is Huegenot and currently on very good terms with Outcasts and Corsairs.

You can only join a single faction (for the factions which owns a system), and another one which does not owns a system (like phantom, 8492, IND, but those are invite only AFAIK).
(If you find any mistake in my English, please let me know via a PM)
(Really, I speak terrible English, so please, tell me if I make mistakes. I'd like to improve it a bit )

I am not sure I understand. You mean, I cannot have 1 char in =DVL=, another in [RM], and another in SF? They have to all be in one faction?

Yes. You may only join 1 faction that owns a system (AW, SF, RM, DVL, TG, etc...), but you may join any faction that DO NOT own systems. Such as Phantoms.
For example: I am in AW, it owns a system so I may not join RM, DVL, SF, or TG. But I CAN join Phantoms, NovaPG, or AMAG and still stay in AW because they do not own any systems.
