Olivia walked slowly besides the Admiral. He looked around in awe at the symbolic corridors of Winchester Station, the hub of the Armed Forces.
"Long time since I've been here.." He sighed
Olivia glanced at him, "Much changed?" they carried on walking towards the hangars.
"Aye, been painted." He chuckled and smiled, the smile faded away as he clutched his leg.
"Shall we wait a minute?" She helped the Admiral stand up again.
"No.. No. It's fine, let's go" He soldiered on down the corridor, they were nearly there anyway - Hangar 6A. As they took the lift down to the hangar deck they stood in silence looking at the floor. Olivia wanted to ask about the Gauls, but she knew it wasn't the best time. Especially since the Admiral had trouble walking. The large metal doors hissed open and they stepped out. A group of 1st Fleet Marines were waiting for them by a heavily armoured Clydesdale. Olivia watched the Marines help the Admiral onboard and then she turned away and went back to her Office. She had a lot of paperwork to send to Admiral Brooks anyway, and she expected more to come.
As Davis saw that Sunderland left he told the marries to take him to the office of the fleet admiral. He is dressed with a Armed forces uniform and as he walked he remembered his good old times before the fall of Leeds Admiral Davis saw the officer of the Fleet admiral two guards were posed in front of the officer as he was about to enter they saluted.
He entered and saw Admiral O'Brian behind her desk he approached and saluted
"Admiral Charles William Davis reporting as ordered"
Michelle was sitting with her chair facing the window. She turned around to face him, smiling lightly
Davis! It's been far too long. Take a seat, we have much to discuss
She waved her hand at the two seats in front of her desk, their backs to the door, indicating he take one. As he sat, Michelle relaxed, crossing her legs and clasping her hands in her lap.
It's a shame you disappeared when you did. The vote had just finalised as the final push in Leeds occurred. We hoped to clear it with Baron Piett, of course you knew him as Lord Jarrow, and deliver the good news to you after you returned from Leeds. Unfortunately, fate had it you was not to become Fleet Admiral that day...
She pauses, trying to guage his reaction, whether he knew it had been coming to him or not, then continues
What do you know has happened since that day? Outside of Leeds I mean?
What O'Brian managed to gauge that Davis was disappointed from himself. He took a deep breath and began to speak.
"Nothing miss O'Brian what I know is from recently the Royal Navy is chaos right now because it would seem you took them by surprise and they are worried. Other then that the Regular beatings and torture for the fun of it I could not manage to gain information."
She looks at him for a moment, choosing her words wisely
I'm sorry for what happened to you Davis. We wanted to free you, we truly did, but the potential loss of civilian life in their anger and rage was too great. It was a risk none of us could willingly take.
She glances at her desk momentarily, a few papers scattered across it
To bring you up to speed, shortly after the fall of Leeds, we decided it was time to re-vote. Miss Evyn Wildcat was given the position of Fleet Admiral, and she led us for a short while. However, she was caught by a nasty injury. I still haven't looked into the details of it, as she is only recently out of medical. After she went down, I took the position of "Acting Fleet Admiral", until it was clear her injuries where too severe, at least to keep her from the Armed Forces for an extended period of time. As this was discovered, we took a final vote in which the board decided to give me the full position of Fleet Admiral. We have taken a few operations against the Gauls, found the security pilots of Borderworld Exports to be some of the most ferocious around, and continued building our forces up, including the full introduction of our Carrier, the Invincible Class. It has seen some successful operations, and I hope to see it do well as a part of our roster.
I should also note that Her Majesty, Queen Carina, has named herself an heir, in the form of Baron Piett's young son, James. He occasionally pops his head out to see us, so it's likely you'll meet him.
She looks down at the piece of paper, then glances back to him
"I see well Piett has managed to get himself far but still anyway. Yes Several questions unless you have any otehr questions about my capture. My Nephew he was a Liutenant of the Armed Forces before I was captured what happened to him ?, I forgot to ask his mother about it and What role will I be allowed to take in the Armed forces if you approve of my return."
It's Captain Oliver Davis now. And he's currently on special assignment, reporting directly to me. I'm unable to share details at this time Charles. I'm sorry.
As for your return... That all depends on your debrief. You need to write that report for me, I'll give you to the end of the week for that, and undergo a mental fitness examination. The two will provide me enough to make a decision on where I place you. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful Charles, but I've seen how they treat their people, let alone prisoners. This could lead to a mentality that would compromise you, and I can't afford that right now.
She pushes a piece of paper towards him with a pen
As soon as you sign this consent form, to say that you willingly go for these tests, then you will be taken to Winchester Station. Basic aptitude tests, and a short course to refresh you in command, that's all. Just like the day you signed up.
She sits back, crossing her arms
Sign your life away Charles. This is the beginning of your reinstatement.
