Quote:5.6 If a player engages cruise engine or docks during a PvP fight, this player is considered fleeing. The fleeing player must leave and may not re-enter the system where the fight took place with any of the characters on his/her account(s) while the enemy (player or players involved in the fight) remains in the system, but no more than 4 hours.
I know we aren't supposed to be interpreting the rules, but this actually came up in game. A pirate destroyer docked with a trade lane during a fight but claims not to have fled. I mentioned the rule and they said I was wrong. I really dont think that there is any room for interpretation here, docking = fleeing, period.
Am I wrong on any level here? (other than trial by forum when the other guy replies)...
Simple answer: He fled. It doesn't matter how you choose to leave a fight, whether it be by thrusters, cruise engines or trade lanes, once you leave stay left.
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.

This has to be knocked into heads of some Corsair and BH players...

dont forget outcasts, LNS, and indy pirates.
I still think the fleeing rule needs to be changed, honestly. If you flee from combat, you should not re-engage any players who were involved in the battle for 4 hours unless they engage you first, but you shouldnt have to leave the system - fleeing is a tactic in itself IMO.
But I must ask. Can you dock to catch up to someone who successfully escaped you? I think yes but I want to guage community thought on this.
For example Trader X gets away and out of my range but continues to travel near the trade lane. Can I then dock to move ahead of his position to get closer to CD him?
Never mind, I think I answered it myself. He fled and I can chase him how I please. I leave it to see if I missed anything in my calculations.
