It's a Gaul, nonetheless. You may point out the sort of difference - or completely ignore it and treat it as a normal Gaul - very easy to do so from my point of view. You want me to change Red? Very little chance given roleplay is already rolling for some time and retconning him into so-called "human being" would require erasing roleplay with other people (as if nothing happened), which were brought up and interested by something relatively new and unique. Not to mention completely rewriting background from the scratch, making entire character development pointless.
As I said before, show me in lore anything about experiments with making hybrids - because there are no such things, but then nothing forbids us to do so, making it a quite open topic. If you don't care or find it ridiculous - simply don't put any feedback and move along.
What events would be so altered if he had been a human being rather than a furry?
Edit: And did you ask those people you RPed with if it would really change the meaning of the encounters if he had been a human being rather than a furry?
The same topic of furries and how they're logically not appreciated in this RP community, has been discussed many times, and most if not all people still don't see furries really acceptable in the dimension/universe of Disco. I believe everyone here said what needs to be said.
If you're not able to take feedback and criticism, then you'd better off with no feedback thread at all. After reading your posts, it doesn't suit you really.

Let me quote something on that subject.
Quote:(...) the real-life creation of human-animal hybrids has served as a subject of legal, moral, and technological debate in the context of recent advances in genetic engineering. Defined by the magazine H+ as "genetic alterations that are blendings [sic] of animal and human forms", such hybrids may be referred by other names occasionally such as "para-humans". They may additionally may be called "humanized animals".Technically speaking, they are also related to "cybrids" (cytoplasmic hybrids), with "cybrid" cells featuring foreign human nuclei inside of them being a topic of interest. (...) While at first being a concept in the likes of legends and thought experiments, the first stable human-animal chimeras (not hybrids but related) to actually exist were first created by Shanghai Second Medical University scientists in 2003, the result of having fused human cells with rabbit eggs. As well, a U.S. patent has notably been granted for a mouse chimera with a human immune system.
You might PM me for sources, since some of them might be too controversial for forum rules.
I will only add we have 28th Century in Discoverse and I really doubt such kind of experiments, be it for medical, monetary, military or pure curiosity purposes, would hold up if they were started in 21st Century. Just 22 years ago we were shooting to 2D sprites in Doom, now we have real life-like graphics - just to make myself clear on how how agressive and fast development in various areas of research is.
This thread was supposed to be feedback after encountering character in game, but then it turned into one big squabble about something that is not forbidden by lore, especially when I am doing it on basis given by modern science and technology - we can only imagine what humanity would be able to do after even 100-200 years.
First of all things. Freelancer makes no sense. It is best to think of it as what people imagined 2020 would be back in '03 and add spaceships an aliens. If we really walk this road of what is possible then the only faction to play would be that AI group in Kappa. Robots have mechanic voices. People need to fly their spaceships themselves. There is close to no automation in Freelancer.
Don't walk that road. It will lead to headaches and immersion destruction.
I don't see why humanity would want to create anthropomorphic dogs. Sorry, I don't get it. Except for his superior sense of taste/smell, a dog literally has nothing that is even remotely better than a human - and there's animals that do that far better. I don't see Snake/Human hybrids anywhere? Or Shark/Human hybrids. Or anything that just would make sense. But aside from that: No, it's not forbidden, but it's not in the lore, has always been frowned upon, and that's a fact. Sure, it's not forbidden, but it is common sense to not do it, especially since it has been done a lot of times, and the feedback has always been the same. The lore does not forbid it, it only tells what is there, not what is not. As you might know, there's something in every universe that's called tone. Furries don't fit Freelancers tone.
On the topic of that one:

You knew beforehand what the reaction would be, yet you decided to do it anyway. Don't go play the victim now. This is not the first time you did this. You created this thread for feedback, and that's what you get.
I'm actually amused that people pull all their hate to scold the player with quite unorthodox character, which does not affect other factions and players in any way. As I said before - if players are really ticked by the origin of the character, let them simply ignore that fact if they wish to do so. What has been done, is done for now and changing/erasing/taking back everything would be either enormous waste of time and effort (not only mine, but time of other players) or being seen as act of succumbing to negative feedback.
That's all what I want to say in that subject for now.
And yet again you pull the hate card. There has been no hate at all, no offending messages, no angry stuff etc. What has happened here was merely people voicing criticism with the fact that your character doesn't fit with their picture they have of Discovery, and that is what this thread is for. At least if my definition of feedback is the same as the one that is generally applied.
Succumbing to negative feedback does not have to be a bad thing. Taking criticism is an integral part of being in a community, something that is neglected far too often.
The main problem I see here is, yet again, that you seem to miss the point of the feedback. This community, at least at large (I cannot claim to speak for all of them, of course) has no interest in furry RP, and it doesn't really fit the basic tone of their picture of the Freelancer universe. This is, as evident by the stunning amount of non-furry characters, a consensual agreement between most players. Introducing a furry character therefore will inevitably draw criticism, and justifiably so.
Just to go beyond everybody's "this doesn't fit Disco, that doesn't fit Disco" thing, let me state that in my opinion roleplaying a furry or "anthro" would never ever fit any serious sci-fi universe, not anything mature. A child's cartoon at most. Agreeing with previous commenters here, regardless of roleplay quality it would be difficult to take anything serious if the whole picture is ruined with a character image like that. That's my feedback in your feedback thread.

Still can't see how does makes sense. First date of 2003 is bad, just because Freelancer alternative story had began earlier, it's kinda obvious because Socialist block had survived and was pretty strong. You want to say that this UNPROFIABLE field had it's development, because you want so. In the same time we have 2 developers in this particular thread that saying that it didn't. If you don't care about the community, it's RP and lore you probably better to make your own mod with furry empire and a ships with the fox model, no one will try to stop you, believe me.
