It will no doubt be soon noted that a vessel appearing to be a "Rheinland battleship" is reported to be operating under the Junker Congress flag in Sigma-13. We wish to appraise you of the situation regarding this vessel and acquaint you with the facts of its construction--it is not a Rheinland battleship.
We are all aware of the wreckage and debris left from the Eighty Years War in Sigma-13 and it is common knowledge that quite a number of Rheinland wrecks were left behind. In the intervening decades, ALG, freelancers and individual Junkers have thoroughly scavenged most useful pieces of these wrecks and while small components in near working order are recovered on occasion (usually from abandoned fighters) no functional major warship sections remain intact.
Scavenged, blasted in battle, irradiated and ravaged by Wild--these segments, while remaining as "hulks", are primarily useless and good only for scrap.
We began some time ago to 3D map the debris fields of Sigma-13 using Harvester developed algorithms and a Junker-Harvester designed scanning array. These 3D maps cataloged millions of pieces of debris and cross referenced them to one another. In addition, these pieces were then compared to scans of current vessels operating throughout Sirius and identified as to origin and ship type through metallurgical comparison, dimension and shape.
In short--we put Humpty-Dumpty back together again...virtually.
What was rendered were fully defined 3D models of ships found in Sigma-13 from the Eighty Years War. Internal sections and pieces were also partly but not fully identified. Numerous Junker vessels transferred salvage and fabricated components for months in order to complete this project. Final assembly and fitting out occurred at Vieques Shipyard in Puerto Rico.
Junker engineers from Vieques and Bornholm then sat down with Harvester fabrication software and consultations from contracted Rheinland area ship builders and we began the design of a "Junker Battleship". For economy and time savings, we refabricated the external hull of the Bismark class battleship and then custom designed Junker components to internally fit it out with.
So while by appearances, it is a "Rheinland battleship" is so in appearance only. Some of the metal salvaged in Sigma-13 was used in construction--but only as raw material. internal components were crafted at Bornholm and the hull was fabricated at Vieques where final assembly of components also occurred.
Junker forces had to constantly fight Wild and pirate incursions as well as deal with radiation in order to complete this work and it was a collaborative effort to complete such a massive design and project successfully. Junker expertise in reverse engineering dissimilar technologies and from working with Harvester units was also indispensable in this construction.
We are extending an invitations to a small party of your naval officers, government officials and engineers to take a brief tour of the vessel to affirm it is indeed not a true "Rheinland battleship". Weapons onboard are those commonly available in Sirius and not retrieved from any Rheinland ships. The ship will serve primarily as a base defense vessel against the Wild at Yanagi Depot in Sigma-13 (military headquarters of the Junker Congress) and will not travel in Rheinland space so as to avoid any confusion or conflict.
At such time we also wish to present--with our greatest respect and due reverence--crew remains recovered from the high radiation areas where no previous salvage efforts had been undertaken. DNA samples have already been procured and provided to be returned with these remains to facilitate their repatriation back to Rheinland.
The Junker Congress extends its full sympathies to their descendants who will receive their remains. A memorial crafted from the salvaged parts will be permanently installed at Yanagi and a copy of it is gifted to the Rheinland government as well to display as you chose.
Please advise us if you wish to avail yourself of this invitation and we will arrange a formal ceremony.
Respectfully,
Arbiter Vladimir Tinkerbell, Junker Congress
