Yes, it doesn't make too much sense to make a tea party with your enemies. A fireworks festival sounds more realistic. Just don't stand still if there are powerful enemy ships in range, and you won't suffer the same fate again.
By the way, do you happen to know an exorcist? Look at the number of your first post in this thread today.

If you aid us, and you aid them, you are the enemy.
If you do not aid them, you are worthless outside of extortion potential.
If you aid us, you will be treated with respect.
A recent encounter with the MN forced me to do forum rp, which is novel, and an encounter with them after that really impressed me with the way they just roll up, blare out greetings and announce themselves and then go back to doing their own things again.
Thank you The Sovereign for your kind words. We're very glad to hear the Merchant Navy's resurgence has caused positive interactions! I have passed on your kind words, and hope that you find many more interesting encounters with them!
I'll also use this opportunity to thank all the MN guys. You've come back in stellar form, and make me proud to be both your faction leader, and a fellow captain in space. Here's to many more successful trade operations!
The positive impression the Merchant Navy made a while ago was thrown out the window today.
1: A random fighter starts shooting at me before the engagement notice was given.
2: You ganked some of the SCRA| members with 5 to 1, I myself got ganked 3 to 1 by 2 fighters and a very eager bomber, on the contrast yesterday you were 3 v 2 of our guys and we still gave your last guy a fair duel, today you go out and do this.
3: This is just ridiculous and makes you look desperate for blues.
The last 2 snubs on my back were so desperate for the blue that they followed me into the sun.
Not a single word could be exchanged with your faction other than engagement notices, even during breaks in the fight.
The spirit of gameplay was no better than what one would expect from a pvp indie faction.
I'll pick up on some points to try clarify, starting with the shooting before engagement notice was given, I would appreciate if you could send me the name of the ship in question.
To the fight, I can not imagine that an SCRA fighter got shot at 5:1 in a fight that had a good bunch more of them in it, unless he was separated from the lot, wich is rather a tactical mistake than a gank if his mates were busy doing something else, I was beeing shot at by two fighters alone inbetween, too. It happens in groupfights.
For the caps in your screen, if I'm not strongly mistaken there were a few more SCRA ones on the scene at the beginning of the fight, a BC and a duo of destroyers the least. The BC left the group then and let the destroyers alone vs two battleships and a bomber, still no horrible odds.
As for the reserved way our members handle SCRA| members, I would like to quote the last time we tried to communicate fights have to be more than just who logs more people

We were really on a roll at that point though and weren't about to stop with our crusade against capitalism -- besides we expected Brets to pull a bit more than a single ship during that engagement. We look forward to countering your "democracy" with the true expression of popular will.

I hope you understand many are not too interested in giving chances to a group that has repeatedly proven they rather play dirty, yet I do not think this fight was paticularly bad. The convoys main group didn't even take part in the main fight, just their escorts.
To sum up the people partaking in the fight (for all I've been able to tell)
SCRA: one Gunboat, three fighters, two destroyers, one battlecruiser vs BAF| 2 fighters, two bombers, one gunboat and two battleships
Thank you for raising your concerns, any constructive feedback is welcome.
The screenshot of the fighter beeing alone was taken right after the last capital died. The fighter did not get a duel, that is true, possibly because there still were a destroyer of wich we did not know the location, two fighters and a gunboat in the system. In that specific matter, I may remind you that SCRA fighters 2v1 a BAF snub in this very fight as well, conveniently not mentioned by you, yet no problem in my opinion. In groupfights there are situations where people get targeted by more than one person.
The battleship offering cover was asked not to open fire on snubs after that local message and held to its order.

What happened happened so for the sake of avoiding more unnecessary drama I won't be pursuing the situation with the guy who shot before the engagement notice any further as I do not remember which one it was and I do not have any screens to back it up.
I'll settle for a reminder that they can start shooting after the notice and not before.
I have to say here that from many encounters with SCRA, i belive any sane person would come to the conclusion that even going 5v1 against them is considered being merciful. And its all deserved taking in consideration the countless disgraceful shows of you and the rest of this faction.
And yet here you are with this stuck up ***** of a smartass attitude, criticising BAF in this case for something that you and your excuse of a faction do and have countlessly done it repeatedly in the past while replying to ohers concerns with sarcasm and jokes.
And that is what is called hypocrisy. And you think that comming here makes you look so smart, but no. It just makes you look desperate and idiotically hypocritical.
If that sorry ass faction was bad enough by itself it just needs you in it to make it even worse.
