The handled much better, it was faster, more slim, smaller, but lacked the firepower of the Sabre. Anna admired its agility, but she still preferred the raw stopping power of the Sabre. After her leave from Omega-5 she found herself involved in countless escort missions and hijacking and killing the passengers of several "unauthroized" ships passing through Hessian territory. Anna's lust to move up the ranks outweighed her morals just as much as her rage did from Florian's death. She gunned down several innocent families and children, solely to see herself carryout her selfish hatred. Whenever she was questioned by her fellow squadmates or comrades running escort missions, she would claim she was just following orders. Something her superiors liked to hear, but not so much her comrades. As the months went by, the nightmares she began to have on Ronneburg only got worse. The general atmosphere of Omega-11 didn't help either, with Anna being met with greedy pirates at the end of missions in the place she was supposed to "rest" at. None the less, Anna was persistently ruthless in the face of combat, and carrying out nasty orders. She earned a reputation among her squadmates that quickly spread to anyone just joining, and stuck with those leaving.
Anna sat down in the seat of her Odin listening to the chatter among the private comms channel. The demand for escorts rose with the impending siege of Leipzig Station, and as such Anna was practically living in the seat of her Odin. Her Flight suit was sweaty and smelled as much, her hair combed back behind her head felt like an extra helmet. The glass on the front of her helmet started to fog up from breathing, her head throbbing from dehydration and the overwhelming heat from the Sun of Omega-11. 40k Away and closing. Those words came at a relief to the escort crew, each of which were just as eager as Anna to get some water and food. The Comms chatter silenced briefly, everyone was probably resting, the Corsairs wouldn't dare launch an attack so close to Freital, Omega-11 was out of their reach and the environment made the system unsettling to anyone not looking to make a fortune off of diamonds. A few seconds after hearing nothing but silence over the comms channel, Anna noticed something pop-up on her radar dashboard. 5 Contacts moving in on an intercept course. Anna spoke immediately, she took a glimpse out of her cockpit and saw 5 titans closing in on the transport. IMPERIALS! BREAK FORMATION AND ENGAGE! RED-5, RED-2 COVER THE TRANSPORT! Anna shouted, adrenaline shot through her system as she shifted her Odin over towards the fighters, ready to meet them up close. What the fuck?! All the way out here? Another pilot shouted as 4 of the Odins moved over towards the fighter wing. The Titans didn't hesitate, within a second one of the Odins went down. Shit. Anna muttered as she turned the ship around to take out one of the Titans, she lined up a shot and fired, the Titan lost one of its wings as the ship soared into an asteroid. There's one. She spoke up with confidence. Another Titan shifted in front of her attempting to shoot down one of the Odins. Heinrich, any time now. The pilot spoke up waiting for the titan to leave his radar dashboard. I have him. Anna turned on the ships afterburner and sent several rounds through the ships engines, the ship ignited and the cockpit broke sending the pilot out the front of the ship. Within seconds the Radiation ate through his skin, killing him. Thanks fo- Before the pilot could finish his sentence he was shot down. Anna returned the favor, cutting him off as he turned towards her Odin and shot the ship's mine dropper, which sent the ship up in flames. As Anna moved towards the transport she saw both the other escorts being shot down. Shit. She muttered again as she dove in towards the Odins, the transport had successfully cruised out, but that left Anna to deal with two more Titans. The first one was easy, he wasn't moving at all, just attempting to get a shot on Anna, as the Titan closed in she pitched up and released a mine. The titan fell straight into the trap, it went up in pieces towards the sun. As Anna turned and looked for the final ship, she felt her Odin shake, her head -once again- flung forward into the dashboard. Her eyesight went fuzzy for a second, blood ran down her forehead mixing in with the sweat from the heat. Anna was exhausted, the focus space combat demanded was extremely taxing, her head was throbbing immensely from anxiety. Her flight suit soaked up in sweat as she desperately moved the Odin into the asteroid field. Just as they entered, Anna made a desperate move. Anna flew an inch away from a large asteroid and dropped a mine, the mine impacted with the asteroid, the explosion radius sent the Titan into another asteroid. As she turned around the Titan exploded, the shrapnel flung in her direction. Aghh! Anna cried out in pain as a massive piece of shrapnel flung inside of the Odin into the back of her chair. The shrapnel ripped into to her back, within seconds she could see blood pouring down to the bottom of the seat, another small piece of shrapnel sat in her right arm. Anna breathed heavy, pushing the yolk forward with what little strength she could. She headed for Vogtland station, by the time she made the system jump she was halfway unconscious. The ship practically fell into the hangar bay, several engineers rushed to her aid, upon pulling her out of the chair they saw the shrapnel was about halfway through the chair, half of it covered in blood. Anna could barely walk down the stairs from blood loss, as she closed in on the Medical bay Anna could see her commanding officer standing over with the transport captain. She was cut off before she could finish giving him a report, and continued over to the infirmary. Just as she entered, she collapsed and went unconscious.
