Why does this come after I post the board and not while I announced it for the purpose of people giving me deedback?
In any case, it's an experimental concept. Nomads get fairly little to do ingame besides fighting and since there is no trading you can do on that ID, I figured some money earning with the ID wouldn't be bad for activity. It's still an experiment and I might can it at some point if I notice that it does not encourage activity outside of periods where activity would be there nonetheless i.e. during events. The money incentive is something I basically just pilfered from pvp events where you get a kill bonus and people haven't complained about Nomad kill bonuses either, so I find the complaint about the money incentive rather feeble.
In any case: it's experimental. It might change or be scrapped if it doesn't work out.
Just dropping by to say that I really enjoyed my interaction with you, Foxglove.
I've returned to discovery a few months ago following a two year-long hiatus. Nomnom RP has always intrigued me, and I've not often had the chance to experience it firsthand.
I stumbled upon your "bounty board" of sorts. I think it is a really good incentive for people to log their nomads and go do things. Having more competent jellies around would do this server great, I think.
This idea and our interaction really have me considering trying my hand at joining you. It was crazy hard back in my day (felt like it at least), but I feel ready for it now

I'm glad you enjoyed playing with me. If you do decide to want to join us, you'll find that, as a Nomad, you will often find yourself thinking whether the other side is enjoying the encounter and if they will be salty if you shoot them. The Nomads are bent on eliminating humanity, after all. This is why I'm glad I managed to spark your interest is us. It means a lot to know that.
Creating nomad characters costs ooRP money. I see no reason as to why playing a Nomad character means it should be an ooRP investition without ooRP regains.
It is also a good compromise for us as a faction, as we have pretty high demands compared with other factions. While there is no need to sign up as Vagrant (or for the BB, Lesser Vagrant), people can earn a bit more money if they do their kills while representing a Vagrant ship. It's easy to say this is a means to the end, but to us, this is a way to make a clear cut between people who want to play Vagrant for the sake of PvP logging and who wants to actually play the Vagrants as we would like to see it, with the biggest possible RP ambitions. I believe there is not a single faction that hasn't players that log only for the PvP. Well, except UN| right now.
I do think it is better to encourage people to play alien instead of disencourage them by the fact that playing a nomad character has not a single mean to re-earn invested money. ooRP means for ooRP motivation, and we get more in touch with the indie nomad playerbase, especially if they sign up as Lesser Vagrant.
Notice
The volution system has been tweaked. In the year we exist now, nobody has managed to reach the requirements necessary in order to obtain the highest tier ships (not even me). It is evident that I completely miscalculated the effort some of this would take, and as such, point requirements were lowered as to make it easier to reach all ships, with a focus on mid-tier ships (Irra).
I have been shown a log which shows how scarce Vagrant roleplay is:
Quote:[17.01.2018 21:32:50] Vagrant.Kapheira: *Kapheira begins to pulsate.*
[17.01.2018 21:33:11] Vagrant.Kapheira: "The Light will purge the Darkness."
Not only I dare say that Vagrant RP - from my view - isn't immersive at all, but thanks to your actions (completely disregarding the fact that a K'Hara AND an Oracle allowed the two peeps you basically stomped) you just ruined a beautiful RP experience.
As a note - I'm not throwing any salt or toxicity to the faction, just stating a fact.
As far as I was aware, you were in Omicron Lost, which the Vagrants consider a home system. It is the Vagrants' equivalent of Omicron Iota. Any human factions there are asking for trouble if they have no business being there. Do not complain about getting stung if you poke the hornets' nest.
Also, this:
Quote:3) Poor in-game behaviour, characterised by repeated incidents which are harmful to server gameplay, and not merely once-off incidents or the exercise of tactical advantage, such as outnumbering, outgunning or outthinking an opponent.
That being said, Ice was under attack by the Order Geb. The first natural reaction to that is obviously to take care of the human targets. Which is what I did. Those targets were unknown to the Vagrants, in the Vagrant home system. The Geb said it would act as Humanity's shield. Megaera might have ties with K'Hara but not with the Vagrants, and got shot down for it.
Again, when you're not present yourself (you were at FP11 as Abrolhos), please don't try to instrumentalize it for your subjective issues with me/Vagrants.
