It took me a year to shake them off. A whole year of running around in circles, covering my tracks, trying not to get caught with the hot cargo, but in the end, the Military backed off, and I'm left with my prized possessions. There's a lot of catching up to do. Trying to maintain radio silence didn't help hide my location, because, somehow, they always knew where I went. I doubt Enfield said anything, Hunt told me he was trusted enough...
But now it's late to look back at earlier errors I made. The only thing that matters is getting this cargo back to Malta, so the research can start. The only thing I'm concerned about now is how the rest of them are gonna look at my return. I was told that the Commune is now a huge organization, and, for them to see a new, yet old face could bring unnecessary talk among the lower ranks. For now I only need to wait for Hussaini to come pick me up and I'll be out of this hellhole. I may even get in time to Malta to enjoy some whiskey before Nomak reappears.

Hussaini is on his way, with Nomak. Guess the old group is finally reuniting. Only time will tell what happens next.
On our way back we got to meet eachother, and it seems Hussaini is exactly what Jared always told me. A genius in hiding. Straight face, all the time, yet his words can bend your will. It is exactly what Jared's right hand always needed to be. A person who can bend words in such a way to make you believe whatever he wishes.
Making one jump after another, we've appeared in front of Malta, where I was notified that we now have a planetary headquarters, where all our assets are currently placed.
"Well, I guess it's time to see what everything looks like after all this time. And it looks like the mission is a success."
Andre turns to Nomak, only to see him being pulled by a few scientists to a secondary construct next to the landing zone.
"Guess it's the two of us now. Bring me up to speed with everything while they unload the goods".
Standing nearly immobile, hands crossed, Hussaini listened to the clattering of machinery and the bustle of life around the Harborage, his eyes darting from one person to another, as if looking for something specific. Andre's voice interrupted this, and he turned slowly to face him.
"It is what it always was..." - He relaxed into a more friendly, yet assertive position. - "We struggle, strive, head on against the hurricane. The game is the same, it's only the faces that keep changing."
He turned around again and motioned into the distance. - "We make progress, as you can see. This edifice is proof of that, built in record time, the blood and sweat of its builders embedded in its foundations. This is from where we spread our dream, where the Great Work is made manifest."
He paused as Andre approached him and stood beside him. - "But even all this is just the beginning. Much more sweat, much more blood is required, from all of us. Nomak had only words of praise when describing your past work, and I'm inclined to say you were a fitting replacement in my absence."
He turned his head left towards Andre. - "Do you still have the same fervor? Are you ready to resume your part in the Great Work?"
Standing in the shade that the building has made, Andre looks up, seeing it stretching across the horizon. A monumental project.
"The struggle is never ending. This, this thing, is the evidence for that", he pauses, but not for long, as he continues
"Time spent dodging everyone and everything has surely taken a toll on me, but nothing a person of my caliber cannot overcome. I've awaited this moment for a long time, Hussaini."
Turning around, seeing the base busting with activity, he again turns around to Hussaini
"I feel like the time to continue what we started working on ages ago came back. And to answer your question, I have never been more ready than I am now. I do need a drink first, though.", he chuckles as they both head towards the main entrance.
Heading towards the entrance deeper into the complex, they stopped before the imposing doors. The armor-clad guards standing at each end quickly straightened up, and saluted in unison - "Hail Commune!" - Then quickly proceeded to undo the lock mechanism on the doors.
Hussaini nodded at the guards and regarded Rise with an unblinking stare, his eyes fixated on his face, still and uncanny as if made of glass. After a while, he smiled, his face taking on a completely different expression. - "Excellent. I'll need good men in the Silver Sun."
The door mechanism clanked as they swung open to reveal a spacious garden courtyard, meticulously arranged flowers, and trees divided by paved walkways. Hussaini took point, walking down the pavement towards what seemed like a conveniently placed restaurant or lounge. - "But for now, let's get you that drink."
