Sender: Commandant Pierre Vaillant Recipient: Marine Royale Gauloise Subject: Battle in Leeds and Tau-23.
Bonjour,
The 30th June was a very tedious day. All the day our long range scanner detected large movements of enemy forces. First in Tau-23, where a Crayter carrier and a bomber tried to attack the Chreronsee outpost. Deployed previously within the area, the RNS-Ressentiment with the help of the Capitaine Jules Baudelaire engaged the enemies. Despite having suffered damage, the Ressentiment managed to destroy the Crayter carrier and le Capitaine Baudelaire destroyed the bomber very easily.
I returned later in New London on Le Cendre. Nonetheless, patrols reported that a combined Bretonian and Crayterian fleet was moving towards Leeds. I left le Cendre with my fighter and found a bomber near Southampton. This one cut several lanes in order to delay me. I reached Leeds and found near the gate a Dunkirk escorted with several bombers and fighters. While I called reinforcements, I decided to take all of them myself. Apparently, according to a SIS pilot, I am a 'priority target'. I had the opportunity to demonstrate them I am more than a priority target.
A Bretonian fighter engaged me. I destroyed him. Then a Crayter vessel joined the party. I destroyed him. Our reinforcements were about to come. The RNS-Asheling managed to occupy the other fighters while I could repair mine. A whole fleet of Battlecruisers moved towards the New London Jump gate. The RNS-Asheling get eliminated. The Dunkirk with all that firepower has been sunk. A Bretonian battlecruiser came, but quickly destroyed aswell. The remaining fighters suffered the firestorm from our capital vessels. I took down the last enemy fighter myself.
I'd like to highlight that the number of capital vessels that joined the battle was too much important. We took the risk to left without defense other areas in Leeds. Futhermore, it is not in our gentleman way to storm ships like that. Our assets will be informed about that exaggerated response.
Vive le Roi!
Sincèrement
Marine Royale Gauloise, Commandant Pierre Vaillant.
