Her Majesty's government has directed me this day to offer a co-operative trade defense programme.
We wish to establish co-operative military protocols whereby fighters and bombers from the Bretonian Armed Forces escort Bretonian Nationals, specifically merchant vessels, into Liberty itself to provide protection to them, preferably through the Cortez System, being a generally safer route than Magellan.
The escort would proceed until the point where authorised LN, LPI, or LSF vessels could conveniently take over. This escort change could occur at Planet Curacao, or any other place along the route, including Liberty itself.
This proposal dovetails nicely with the new Operation Union Flag, the Liberty funded joint training programme. Succinctly, BAF Fighters and Bombers who have completed their escort duties could participate in training with the Liberty Forces using the Connecticut facilities.
Please advise if the Liberty Government is amenable to this proposal.
This seems like an excellent proposition. The special advisor to the president on foreign policy asked me to reply with the affirmative.
In order to further co-ordinate our forces with regards to trade protection I suggest that you give us some communication prior to moving out with the convoy. We could arrange perhaps a regular time for this to be done. This would need to be discussed further.
As to joint training, I agree. I believe it would help some of our boys a lot. We have got quite a few very raw recruits just out of west point lately coming under my command and I beleive that both the Bretonian Armed Forces and Liberty Navy could learn a lot from each other.
However we know you are actively fighting a war, and I'd not like to see men taken from the front lines.
I will schedule a meeting between myself and your admiralty in order to discuss specific. Curacao seems like the perfect place to tranfer control of the convoy, but if at times you are carrying right on to our conneticut facilities then you may as well escort the rest fo the way on those occasions.

The LPI would be glad to assist our Bretonian allies in training exercises, and we offer escort to any trade-ship within Liberty borders, as long as it is not in violation of contraband or embargo laws. Note that scheduled "hand offs" are perfectly acceptable to us, and we could use the training offered by your experienced personnel.

Re:
Military Escorts
The Board of Directors is pleased to hear of this agreement. Our last few convoys into Liberty were pirated heavily along the trade route between our two houses, as a result of understaffing in our Security/Exploration division. Most of our younger pilots understandably left the company for the Armed Forces at the onset of hostilities, which has greatly aided Bretonia against her enemies, but has left our trade convoys somewhat undefended. Any assistance from the Bretonian Armed Forces, the Liberty Navy, and Liberty Police, Inc. is greatly appreciated.
