Academic Report
Cadet Meechum has shown a willingness to apply himself in all areas of his academic studies. He chose for himself a challenging subject, rather than taking the easy route as many cadets do. His tenacity in tackling his courses is something not seen at West Point Academy in years. It is my conclusion that if he matches his dedication to his schooling as he does with his duties, he will make a fine officer in the years to come.
Joseph Hawkins, professor, West Point Academy
_________
Flight Training Evaluation
Cadet Meechum has shown a good understanding of flight combat tactics and possesses a great deal of personal skill when it comes to piloting fighters and bombers. More time during training exercises should be allocated to help the cadet improve power management skills, improve aim, and to know when to cut his losses and do an orderly retreat. In simulations it is fine to fight to the last shred of hull integrity, but not when lives and expensive military hardware is at risk. The cadet is certified to fly fighters and bombers, and is the opinion of this reviewer that he is fit for combat duty.
John Wayne, flight instructor, West Point Academy
