His expression did not changed at all, Admiral watched as the solid doors shut close behind GMG Guildmaster and the assortment of marines keeping watch outside. They could hear no more of her footsteps, making for silence broken only be few and between muffled noises that resonated across entire station that could be expected of any so densely packed base. Such silence lasted for a while as he made some risk calculations in his head before focusing his attention fully to Anna Heinrich who sat at side of the table, now talking to him.
"If they do not follow agreements made with bestest of intentions, price of aid will only become more severe the more they need them. I come with good intentions but disloyalty is something I do not abide. In a way I understand her, she made compromises to prepare for something that she believes may not come in her time. I will hold her up fairly to word she has given me."
He stood up, pressing combinations of buttons on a console behind him. Map of Omega systems as impressively charted by The Order showed up on 3d display at center of table. It was aproximate map, re-arranged for clarity of view rather than factual orientation of stars towards one another. Connections could be seen to neighbouring regions, out of the map leading to nothing but representative logo's like arbitrary Rheinland eagle or Corsair's bullhead representing the Empire. Alike, the systems within were in outlines marked for individual factions that held majority (no doubt possibly disputed by Anna) within. Omega 55 and Omega 58 were marked deep purple symbol that could not be associated to any Sirian faction she could think about.
"Mainly, Omegas are our best bet to reach Bretonia with our warships and transports alike. Deep outside of the map there are Nomad worlds, either awakened or dormant that are under our observation. Secondly, the Nomad worlds within Omegas themselves. 55 and 58 is something I want to support locals with. They are Hessians and Coalition problem alike. Third, Omega 55 is the beggining of Core's imperium. I want them to be isolated in the system, lead to keep fueling Dagger outpost but resisted enough that they do not move their heads any further out. Locked into logistical blackhole and war they can never win."
It took him only a momenth to display map of entire Omega 55, as big as it is. The still standing human holdings in the system were marked green or white representing their alignment to The Order save for Core. Dagger and planet Absconsum was marked red and adorned by uninspired flag of blasphenemy (in his, biased opinion) mark of 'Core Imperium'. Interestingly, memorable Eye in black triangle was located at jumphole anomaly labelled as Omicron Gamma - the only dependable entry point from Omicrons. The eye marked allegiance of miniature hologram of Osiris battleship placed as if posed to exit the anomaly.
The map was slightly insulting, but besides the point. Omega-55 was already of interest to the Army to an extent, and with the likely upcoming evacuation of Omega-11, the Army would definitely strengthen their foothold in the system. Omega-58 was a disaster, the attempt to stop the nomad advance to Planet Tangier left Draay in a risky situation, if others caught wind of what was really going on, he would be answering with his life. The idea of traversing capital ships to Bretonia was questionable, but didn't really bother Anna in a sense. What did catch her attention was how the Order intended to move their capital ships through the bottleneck system of Omicron Gamma. Transports don't bother me, capital ships draw attention, how do you intend to move all your capital ships through Imperial territory onto Bretonia without drawing their attention? She replied first, eventually she was going to work her way up to the big question, but for now she went along to see what he had in mind. The northern region of Omega-55 is being fortified as we speak due to other anticipated events. The Core don't frighten me, and they won't last long given how isolated they already are. When the Dresden system is finally abandoned by the Bundestag then an offensive would be in order. Omega-58 is under constant survelliance from the SOA, however moving into the system with the intent of expanding is impossible. The number of automated drones is substantial, what is it you would hope to gain from moving there? She finished off her sentence, still starring at the Admiral, she hoped his response wouldn't hint at any partnership with the Imperials. But with the Order, anything out of the ordinary seemed to be possible.
He listened to her questions, though it came clear to him that he still did not understood his precise intentions with southernmost Omicrons and Bretonia. She would have no way of knowing, even with best of SOA's advisors putting up any coherent plan of his intentions if they had anything to work with at all. In all certainty, it looked to the Admiral that Heinrich walked in blindly on him. It did not took him long to get map of Omicron Gamma on screen. By his next clicks and movements on the pad, map zoomed in to an outcropp of Edge nebula dominating considerable section o the system: The Malvada cloud.
"We come in the same way that Core did. Core are guilty of many sins, incluing sporadic allies-of-chance with the Corsairs but our intelligence excludes such deal happening in current timeframe. Edge covers our entire approach and unlike those bastards, our warships were designed around stealth capability."
A lot of jumpholes were located inside of the insidious cloud. There were no static defenses, depots or warship deployments intersecting the direct path from deeper Omicron world of Kappa and Omega 55. The asteroid cover was also significant factor, allthough Order vessels in profile were one of the most apt at navigating such difficult areas in entire Sirius. More so than bulky Corsair warships and Core own peculiar school that presented huge and flat surface areas just as suspectible to asteroids as they are to artillery.
"You assume that I plan on colonizing these Nomad infested worlds. While it may be feasible as far Omega 55 is concerned, your ponderings concerning my motives are likely based on what political or personal gains I have to achieve. We are commanded here by more primal and very human instincts. Kill."
There was nothing for the Order to gain in Omega-58, the system was locked down from its entrance in Omega-47. Omega-55 had certain ruins that the SOA and Coalition were investigating, given neither party had their main nomadic research centers nearby, fitting in the Order was doable. Omega-58 on the other hand, was impossible, while Anna and Draay had some ambitions regarding the system, neither could be put into play until the Omega-11 situation was sorted. With the Order's help though, maybe something could change for the better.
Entry and permanent residence in Omega-55 is something you'll find the Coalition are more interested in than me, the Army has agreed to claim territories only within the asteroid field encompassing the Dresden and Omega-11 entrances. Even if you do intend to kill, entering Omega-58 with anything larger than cloaked scout vessels is impossible for the reasons I spoke of already. The Army does have an idea for entry to the system, but that would require you to meet certain standards in this truce. Not just for me, but for the people of the Volksrevolution as well. In any case how would you intend on entering and killing the nomads in a capacity that would actually have any effect?
Anna decided to build her case slowly, while the Order's agenda might've seemed noble, the Army had its own agenda for Nomad assets. Specifically the ones in Omega-58, the scientific value and quantity of devices could undoubtedly give the Army an advantage in their several conflicts.
"I do not expect to start killing them immediately and turn their fortifications into dust overnight. It is simply not possible. However we can agree that Hessians have some holes in their flanks. Allow us to help you in Omega 55 and from there on start creeping closer towards their lairs."
Michal answered coldly, attempting to convey his long term general strategy against Nomad threat within Omega system.
"I also do not have to prove anything to volksrevolution, Anna. You may ask the Bunds of Frankfurt concerning our invaluable support. Corsairs are not my friends and I rue the disastrous decision to grant them Osiris chassis as done by my precedessors. The Buro directs as much hate in my direction as they do to Hessian Primary. I am not Rheinlander, just like Coalition and neither am I a revolutionary but as it may be there's more than one line of thought leading towards opposing the government.
Admiral took a generous swing of Corsair liquor. Heinrich was going in circles, trying to decipher some non-existant code in his motivations and logic in his eyes, prolonging unnecesarily the discussion. He had hoped she would not question him again and insteak take things at face value. The Corsair developed Murmillo's were an tech-abomination, letting for once today his frustration and anger flow out as part of the diplomatic circuss.
"I offer advantageous forward operation bases for your elite. Increased flow of weapons into Rheinland. More militant Bundschuh armed with The Order hardware and our own escalation in the House. For the time being we need your permission to operate in Omegas freely. No doubt you want more, perhaps something akin a token of loyalty to your cause. I can see that in your rhetoric. You are remarkably hard woman to impress, I have to admit. I can throw in our intelligence and understanding on Corsairs, albeit dated 818 A.S. on what we know about them from times when this unholy alliance was still a thing."
The question isn't a matter of will I let you help in Omega-55, the question is a matter of where you intend to stage your forces in Omega-55. She replied with a hint of impatience, the initial statement was obvious but the Admiral spoke around it. The Army posses no major installations in the system, and the bulk of the area is territory of the People's Republic. As for the other territories, list out what you want, there will be strictly limited access depending on where and with what number of forces you intend to deploy. Anna laid back in her chair, still keeping her eyes on the map and the Admiral. You know if you do this you will be forced to choose. You aren't zoners, and the Imperials won't treat you as such. Anna knew the Admiral would answer around the question, but leaving it as a mark in his head -to Anna- would hopefully pressure him enough into accepting an open conflict with the Imperials.
