If you can prove that this is true, I will resign.

I haven't taken any interviews so I'm saying that from my point of view but over the years I can't remember a single story thing that people went "yay" at, house-related. This thing with Kusari and Rheinland is the most frequent story thing that people roleplayed a ceasefire for so they don't have to participate in it. Me and a couple others broke it so we can have a couple tumbles in the Sigmas but still, it speaks to how people just did not want anything to do with the way the story was going for Rheinland and Kusari.
If people do actually care about the overall story quality, then I guess I've been subject to the screams of a very vocal minority. But I firmly believe that most people either just don't care or dislike most story-related things.
Edit: Removed the part that addressed the other off topic posts and re-approved the post. - Loken
Pillow brings out some valid points. I dont want to see Kusarri vs Rheinland especially by creating a ridiculous dispute between them just to "keep them busy" or "just to give them SOMETHING". The quality of that role-play was, sadly, disappointing more than exciting if anything. Current status quo, as someone mentioned, it would've made more sense using Kusari as shield in the Taus on the Gallic side to prevent events like the one you prepared in tau 31, a senseless Colonial Republic invasion featuring regional friends, while both houses collaborate majorly on trading too, with Rheinland.
Rheinland already has its own *****. From the corrupted corporations, to Hessian and Corsair issues, to an almost nonexistent Police or Military faction. Moving the fleets to Sigmas made no sense whatsoever. I wanna see something that makes sense (hardly will we ever get such requests done, but hey hoping is free), not random events from where things escalate the way the playerbase wants it to.
If that was a thing, the Bretonian Gallic war would've been long over, years ago to be more specific, due to the ideas we had on it, but the devs said "no" because "gallia MUST LOSE AT ALL COSTS", even though i completely disagree. After such a long war, in my opinion, Gallia DESERVES this win. Even if it's not a complete win pushing them all the way back to Gallia is unrealistic in my eyes, without all parties involed suffering very much from it.
But as usual, Liberty always gets to win, never to lose, while the rest of the houses constantly get ***** on, pushed around and played with while Liberty miraculously still has resources from out of it's ass to build fleets and such.
I am sorry. I am not even going to attempt to water down the last 5 posts. All have been removed. I can provide the posts to the individuals if they wish to re-post and contribute the points again. Minus the fighting.

There are many people, there are many opinions. For instance, you wrote that nobody plays transports. I will tell you more - there are people who would under no circumstances play transports because hauling is boring per se (telling this as a representative of this particular group and I know quite a few other people who think the same). Similarly, there are different people with a view on the story. I always care about the plot development and dislike it greatly should it be illogical (like Rheinland fighting Bretonia when it is getting smashed internally by a soon-to-be a full scale civil war). People do care about the plot and the logic behind. The dissatisfaction mostly stems from how stalled the plot development is for many of the plot moves would make much more sense if they took place shortly one after another, not taking years.

I disagree on the basis that Half-assing it could irreparably hurt the conflict and it's gameplay impact. If there is a war, as many IDs in the Bretonia/Rheinland/Omega region as possible should be able to interact and contribute to the war. It'd be really silly to not to maximise the activity generation potential off the bat.

I think we need to look less at the status quo and consider things more from a gameplay standpoint. A Kusari/Gallia conflict in the Taus could be an excellent means to revive that region (and Outcasts would still have something to do) coupled with some ore and trade buffs. I think the Sigma conflict has been ineffective at providing a decent war in that region, with most parties being reluctant to get involved.
I really do hope and ask that the Dev team DOES NOT try to force a wars on factions(s) that don’t want it. If the two sides want the War sure, but if the Kusari/Rheinland War is an example the best you can hope for is a “meh”
maybe if devs actually communicated with the factions properly instead of having their own agendas as to what they want factions to do and be like, which is what happened when i last led one, people wouldn't be so aggressive about their faction potentially getting anal'd, which has historically been done to the factions that had no admins or devs funnily enough (bretonia vs kusari, bretonia vs gallia, liberty vs rheinland). devs in discovery have always been the creators and writters of the story while faction players suck it up, and you know for a fact this is true.
there is good reason for people to be hostile to story devs and it's up to you to make the change. no one likes their story to be written or worse yet, ignored by someone else entirely and replaced with nonsense that does no match in any way shape or form what the factions affected have been doing.

i'm so ungodly tired of the "liberty must win everything" complaint that i'd honestly just rather delete the house than hear someone else bring it up again in 2019
i know that's off-topic but jesus christ have mercy on my soul
