I agree that the worst thing about POBs is the hauling of Reinforced Alloy, simply makes no sense (at least it is blown out of proportion, a station should logically require 1/100th of the alloy/day). The holiday mode is the best thing to ever have happened, even so you still have to bring in supplies for the crew.
+1 for not shutting down holiday mode or at least greatly reducing the wear and tear damage and by that the ammount of alloy needed.
Even without supply exemptions or not, I've noticed an increase of pob constructs in Kepler and Galileo, and probably other less "regulated" places. New and/or old folks are not having issues spawning more of these recently.
If the pob list was live, we would have notices that the current number probably isn't in the low 80 anymore....

As long as this isn't somehow reducing server stability or causing lag I have nothing against many, many POBs.

Balance POB sieging around this change then if it needs to be. This would be the first step in "easier to maintain, easier to destroy" at least. I strongly disagree that it only brings negatives, however. It greatly increases the scope and construction opportunities for POBs, and any POBs that are negative will either be dealt with by the rules or dealt with by the players.
As of right now, there are far more tears in a poor player wasting their time grinding.
Just make it run on a single resource/10 hours without needing FOW e.t.c. That should make it easier to maintain without it being a grind. Keep the RA for base repairs.
You people keep discussing the problem instead of thinking a solution. It's not that hard for an idea to grow into the solution you seek. The idea above can be explained with more details.
