Just did some quick math with a hypothetical case of a Core 4 on a planned location of choice. This change would save a base in that location a total of 12 600 000 credits per week, 35,6 % of previously calculated expenses, and about 43,5 - 44,2 % reduction in required weekly time investment in regards to all supply commodities (including FOW), about 10 - 17 minutes less per week.
Said location is right next to a RA source (30 seconds distance), which could explain the high percentage values, I'd be curious though if it also helps this much for bases which are a lot further from repair commodity sale points.
EDIT: Clarification: the calculation only accounts for the consumption of Reinforced Alloy. Involving any of the other repair commodities, or both, would likely give other numbers for both the previous and the current setting.

It's easy to reach his martyr status in the community. Just get permabanned for 1.5 years. Once you're back we'll listen to you as well.
Exactly my point. Thanks
There have been arguments in the past as to why the bases are he way they are to explain to people asking for a change that it isn't going to happen. Things like "bases are team work" and "building and maintaining a base should be challenging and have some work out into ot.". You can. Build a base anywhere in game almost. Making it easier to supply with reasoning such as a less grindy experience isnt really enough to justify the change.
