Entering the virtual interface everything was dark around Alex Jones. As his concious felt around his surroundings he was able to make out more details. While most structures mirrored the real flagship Arcadia everything was a lot darker and shot by what looked like blue veins that followed the artificial patterns of the wall panels. As Alex started navigating through the hallways it seemed like everything was frozen in time. He tried accessing the modular structure of the Arcadia, but to no avail. So he continued on the only path available - forward.
Can you feel it?
The faint voice came out of nowhere and seemed to bounce through the hallways. Alex looked around if the faint blue light gave some indications to its origins, but could not make out anything.
Absolute artificial purity.
While the voice still had no determinable source it now grew a little more intense, scratching on the inside of Alex' head like a distorted signal that was breaking up. It was like nothing he ever felt before, but somehow had a familiar quality to it. He noticed that it made his sanity levels slip by triggering memories burried deep inside his brain. To counteract the effect Alex tried to stay occupied by talking to himself, all while continuing on through the dimly lit maze.
There is no such thing as absolute purity as long as this universe is not completely unified as one entity. And there are simply not enough resources in this universe to accomplish that goal with any kind of technology that exists as of now. Don't make promises that can't be kept.
No response. It was obvious that the entity was trying to isolate them. Alex started to use part of his attention to look for the other Canaan Project members that entered the interface along with him. While he was still listening intently for more from the invading entity, he was starting to be able to make out some faint signals from the bordering corridors.
