University of Cambridge, Planet Cambridge, Cambridge System
Cambridge. It was one of Doc's favorite planets to visit. He lectured from time to time at Cambridge Medical, a place where he also sent many of his personnel from Med Force Enterprises for medical school and recurrent training that wasn't available to him. It was no secret, Doc disliked Bretonian Royalty but it was Cambridge that made him find some tolerance. Cambridge had a lot of natural beauty and he would at times camp in it's forests, a researcher disguised as a backpacker. But today he was all business.
Chancellor William Mortimer had recently chatted with Doc after a recent mission that Doc had made to occupied Leeds. While Doc was a tolerant man, the mistreatment and starvation of children, regardless of where they came from or who they were, brought him to anger. Not only did he take some five hundred of them off the planet, he had every intention of going for more. He had documented in a report his initial findings in a written report, a report that he had written in Latin. If William Mortimer was indeed so educated, he would be able to read it. Why Latin? Few people spoke it as it was quite an ancient language so no one would be able to translate it that didn't have a "need to know."
He entered the into the administrative offices of the University. It was a huge building of old architecture but was immaculate. Doc was in his finest robes as he approached the secretary.
"May I help you, Sir?" asked the young lady at the desk.
"Yes, my name is Doctor John Henry Holliday, chief executive officer of Med Force Enterprises. Chancellor Mortimer is expecting me so may I see him?" he asked of her.
"Yes, Doctor, he is expecting you," she answered, "he is finishing up an appointment with someone." She then motioned to a comfortable chair and bar, "Please, have a seat and a drink if you like while you wait."
She recognized him and smiled. She was attractive and Doc smiled back before giving a quick wink.
Before taking his seat, he poured himself a seltzer. While Scotch was available, he was working and opted not to drink, at least, not yet. He then took a seat and checked the local news on his datapad while he waited.
