If you saw an Inside-Gallia-Only council faction, what recommendations would you make for it? (Can be lore, and/or gameplay). The idea of the faction would be:
- To represent the Council elements who became isolated in Marne, without most of the fleet, when the main body of the council crossed the minefield.
- To attempt lore tie-ins to the first gallic war.
- To show the second gallic war inside of gallia itself.
- To organised fights (including big fleet fights) with Gallic lawfuls inside Gallia itself.
- To harmonize, rather than fight for activity, with the current Council faction. I'm convinced that an organisation as huge, diverse, and geographically separated as the Council is could support two different player-bases doing two different things. Just as we have 5th and 1st, and two types of Bundschuh.
- To make Gallia itself active.
- To give MRG and indies more diverse locations to raid, and more diverse players to raid.
- To make an attempt at showcasing council politics.
- To be able to raid picardy without scaring the traders too much.
- To cater to the few of us who love flying around Gallia, and would happily fly around just Gallia, if there were only people there.
Bear in mind, this is for how you would see a faction running like this operating, if one appeared, and what suggestions you'd make for it, if it did. You might think that Maquis, Brigands, Corse, etc, are needed more, which is a fair assessment, it's just not the topic of the thread. What lore and gameplay recommendations would you make for an inside-gallia only council subfaction?
Edit: I'd like to make clear that this is a very nebulous idea that will take a while to happen, and I may not necessarily be the person running it.

I definitely don't object the idea of a group of players inspiring activity within Gallia - I think that's great. However, I would argue it'd be mutually beneficial if [C] and this proposed group work together under the same roof. Of course, this would have to be arranged and discussed with the relevant people.

I agree to an extent. It depends if Thryzul would be open to the concept.
I've always assumed that the council is big and varied enough to contain many different elements, like the volksrevolution.
In lore a lot of the council enclaves are operating autonomously from each other, anyhow. Its not the most coherent organisation, pwrtly because it is so vast n of itself. For example, are there council members who are pro democracy but view the contact with Sirius (and thus exposing gallia to revenge should the Monarchy fall) a mistake? Its all an interesting thought experiment.

I like this idea very much. Gallic ZoI is absurdly large, and is generally revolving around the frontlines, which Gallic unlawfuls can't easily access because of ID-related shenanigans.
Having a strong Council playerbase dedicated to Gallia itself would open a large avenue of possibilities. I've opened up a Gallia-only unit in the MRG to prepare for that : so far it's good fun hunting down CLANDESTINE IMMIGRANTS and whatnot, but we lack actual combat targets. We're really ready to make Gallia the big and lively place it's meant to be, all we need is some nasty people doing nasty things up there. I'll encourage whatever initiative goes that way to the best of my abilities.

It depends if I get contacted about this set of ideas in the first place. At the moment I attribute it to sheer luck that I managed to stumble upon this thread.

I wonder where you get this "without most of the fleet" part, or how you would explain The Council still holds the entire Champagne system in between a Burgundy crawling with royalist fleets and a Lorraine crawling with royalist fleets, for three decades now.

I'm also curious about this one, as far as I know there isn't much, if anything, left to base anything upon.

I'm not that convinced yet. Huge, yes, we are, like the Hessians, so are we geographically separated, but so far that hasn't been an issue or a reason to be separated.

I do wonder where you got these "lore" bits, the enclaves, the autonomy, the lack of coherence. What you seem to talk about fits the MLG more than The Council itself.
Assumptions are nice and cute, but if you base a huge wall of text of arguements based on unchecked assumptions, you could easily get quite far from the actual reality of things. You would have done both of us a huge favor if you would have contacted me about the contents of this thread and your thoughts before posting this thread.

These are the points I not only agree with, but have already prepared ourselves for, set up fifteen shared faction snubs into Picardy, planning to set up ten more into the same wing, gunboats, cruisers, battlecruisers, and possibly at least one more Redemption besides the Chardonnay. Plus more, but I don't want to spoil all the surprises.
Thing is, until recently there were more obstacles ahead than I could solve by myself. I've been in constant contact with Lanakov, with Ramke before him, and with all the previous leaders of GRN, but even then there were comments from both indies and some official members, that it's a chore to fly ships for tens of minutes for a fight, same for setting up shared ships preemptively (something I took the time to spare for my own folks).
Guess what, that last obstacle fell with the recent addition of the dual restarts and all the OF IDs being purchasable in Conn, making all our efforts even easier. As Lana also mentioned, they too are open for brawls inside the house, so at this point I think I can say it's all just a matter of time. (Alright, that wasn't the last obstacle, for event requests there is still the staff being the time determining factor, not any of us mortals.)
Tl;dr - Things are handled.

It is indeed a very nebulous idea taking a while to happen if you or anyone else being the person running it start making it happen just now. But if you may allow me to be that person, things might happen sooner due to starting sooner as well.

Pretty simple: study the already written and accessible lore, stick to it, and join The Council.
EDIT: Aaaaand we are discussing things directly now. Stay tuned, Ladies and other creatures.
