Isaac Haxton (born April 17, 797 A.S.) was a professional Backgammon player renowned for his surprising breakthrough victory at the 417th Sirius Backgammon Championship hosted on Manhattan in 817 A.S., winning the top prize of 10,000,000 Sirius Credits. Isaac Haxton is famously recognised for his priming strategies and unorthodox opening theory. He had won many smaller Backgammon tournaments all over Sirius prior to his breakthrough victory, and is one of the more widely feared players in the Backgammon community.
Early Life
Isaac was born on to Liberty Police Inc. officers Amyas and Lisa Haxton and was raised in Lenox Island at Planet Manhattan in relative financial security. Isaac was educated mostly in local public schools and picked up Backgammon during this time after being introduced to school clubs for the board game. He quickly took an interest in the game's highly skill-based gameplay which piqued his analytical mind. He developed his skills early-on by representing his schools in inter-regional competitions, and eventually progressed to more professional outlets of Backgammon after completing his education.
Backgammon career
He began with global tournaments on Manhattan, and started gaining recognition after winning regional tournaments in New Manhattan City. After a successful series of victories in which he amassed a large sum of credits, he purchased a shuttle and began travelling around the houses to compete. Starting his tour in Bretonia, followed by Rheinland and then Kusari, and finally coming full circle and ending up in Liberty at the Sirius Championships. After accumulating a total of 56,782,493 Sirius Credits in winnings in Backgammon, Isaac Haxton retired from Backgammon. He now offers coaching through the neural-net and has published numerous books on Backgammon strategy. (See main article: Books published by Isaac Haxton)
Personal Life
Isaac Haxton learnt the basics of fighter self-defense after obtaining a basic piloting license and did convoy escorting duties for Universal Shipping Inc. and Orbital Spa and Cruise. He started working for the Forlorn Hope mercenary company in 825 A.S.. He maintains residence in Lenox Island on Manhattan. His marital status is unknown. He is agnostic.
Controversy
At the Katou Memorial tournament hosted on Planet Kyushu. Isaac Haxton was accused of cheating after his win by upset fans of former reigning champion Shin Maki. Fans demanded footage of the replay and cited cheating when he allegedly swapped the die that was being used with a weighted one, resulting in perfect rolls leading to his victory. However, Isaac denied the allegation and investigations did not yield any conclusive results. This led to more stringent regulations in tournament moderation Sirius-wide. Although Isaac was never officially penalised by the Backgammon community for cheating, his reputation suffered a hit and he was even banned from certain small-scale tournaments in Kusari.
