It was never a problem for years and now suddenly it is? Forcing a ship to drop cloak to jump is ridiculous. The point of having them is to be able to get around without having to reveal yourself, or escape without giving yourself away, especially between systems. I find this is excessive to say the least! A cloak only good within 1 system at a time? That pretty much ruins them. As if CD's, cloak disruptors and their auditory effects aren't enough to negate them.
The latest patch altered the cloak plug-in. If you are cloaked and now use a jump hole or jump gate, you will decloak the moment you use the anomaly. Similarly, you cannot charge the jump drive while being cloaked anymore. The latter prevents the use of JD4 while cloaked to snatch people, for example, while you can simply move off-plane and decloak for using the jump drive if you want to do it in safety.
The former change is probably the worst thing for anyone using Cloak MK3, though. Luckily I sit on my 100 billions.

While I don't see the point for it to be disabled through jumpholes/gates (other than to stop the cloak bug once and for all), the jumpdrive one is an excellent change imo.

except the cloak bug was fixed by cancelling the cloak charge when you slow dock

I've still seen it happening every now and then. I remember @KamiFaby having been killed by someone using it not that long ago.

No joke, I bought a Cloak Mk3 YESTERDAY. This feels like a sick joke. Honestly I'm now being told to drop cloak when I jump to appease players that were butthurt they got cloak jump snatched? Like spicing up their lives is a problem? I've never done that, but I had no problem with those who successfully executed the maneuver. Thats why we play here, why we work for the exotic tech like cloaks. To be able to use cloaks for attacks, espionage and escape. Then the losers complain and that's it.
Part of what has always drawn me to the mod is the cloaks and how they work. Year after year they give in to complaints from butthurt players.
If you really need to stop snatch jumping, please can we find another way?
And to those who did get cloak snatched, you had every chance to hear the ship, and you could have responded by getting a cloak disruptor for next time. If we do need that change, surely we can target the equipment like the jumpdrives themselves and not all cloaks with regards to any jump.
And what cloak bug are we talking about? People claimed charging a cloak while jumped caused a bug, but back in the day I'd do it, and yet still get fired on by NPC bases when I'd emerge from those jumps. Lead me to believe it was fairplay. It only got changed (charging while jumping) because I narrowly escaped some pursuers who were outraged I got away by a hair because I could charge my cloak during a jump. As far as I had always been able to tell, the charge time stayed the same, they just frowned at not being able to CD me during the jump. I used the post jump disorientation to get away, not a bug. Pull a 180 as soon as you jump in, bought you just enough seconds to complete the charge time.
