Aren't Carriers supposed to be support vessels, rather than a Dread vs Carrier as you did with me yesterday?
Other than that, you kept me without shields and the Drone did cause considerable amount of damage.

For the love of god battle ship fights should NOT last anywhere longer then 20 minutes but here we have well above that as a common occurrence. Too many times do i have capital ship fights interrupted by real life requests but i continue the fight, i fight aggressively to try and minimise the time in these fights.

Currently drone does not performing well If drone going to be main thing for Carrier to deal damage, it needs to perform better.
They kinda need better defense and I think carrier drone deployment time needs to be reduced.
I can suggest some ideas to make them better;
1.Reduce reload time of the drone weapons or add drone snacs and buff alpha damage of the drones
2.Reduce deployment time
3.Give drone shields faster recharge speed and rebuild time
4.Increase mass of the drone torp/missiles to make them harder to Flak
I still think Carriers shuld loose primaries (or left with only 2 primaries) and get missile-only slot , they don't need damage per secund as support ship they need support weapons (missiles) .
As for drones suggestion, can server handle 2 drones per carrier , that may compensate for drones weakness?

I dont know how they work, but is it possible to rework them to simply (i say simply , but i dont know how simply that is , and is it simple or not, so correct me please) carrier spawn 2 same drones instead of one , and all commands work for both of them .
So when you ishue command /drontarget or /dromecome , both drones do same thing . It will be like you command mini-squad wing of snubs .
I dunno. Carrier pets are cool, I guess? I wasn't involved with this one personally so I can only postulate that it's neat and in the absence of docking modules working properly (man do I ever hate the Freelancer engine sometimes) it makes carriers actually do carrier-y things.
Lets be frank: carriers were intended to contain player ships, not NPCs.
But anyway 88flak had that really nice idea with NPC-magnet-based Wingmen System.
