What'd happen is a one sided war with people joining the winning team. Lets keep a counter out of this please i don't wanna risk such an imbalance of the player base in a war which has great potential.
+1 Many players will be influenced by the side who destroyed the most enemy ships. Then you will have some players who will join the winner side and it will be like a chain reaction that you can't stop it. Finally this war will be useless, or each side will take no pleasure to fight anymore. This thing musn't happen.

In fact, you are right. I can just give an example when Gallia attacked California. Then there was an event with such a counter. Gallia, having reached the desired limit of points, just stopped coming into the game. So they won - Border station has destroyed.
