My name is Magdalena Atzenbruck, President of ALG.
We have leveraged our political influence as much as we could, unfortunately, the war has broken out officially and we must adapt our plans accordingly. Aside from the previously declared hostilities between the Guild and the Federal Republic of Rheinland, the fallout of which we area only just starting to deal with, we must coordinate a response for the future, including contingencies for all eventualities. As we have anticipated this, all our preparations are in place, we have given the support we can for your colonization efforts and we have delayed the outbreak of war to the best of our abilities. Now we must plan for the coming months.
The Guild is indebted to your organisation and its commitment to peace.
GMG has no appetite for conflict with House Rheinland, however unfortunately this is not reciprocal and in its misguided efforts to strengthen its nation, the Bundestag lashes out in desperation.
The Guild paramilitary has assumed a strictly defensive stance in an effort to avoid exacerbating the situation in the Sigma systems, however this cannot be maintained indefinitely as Guild sovereignty must be protected. The idea solution to the issues at hand is for the Rheinland Military to realise its folly and withdraw from the Sigmas and this is a goal we continue to strive for.
Perhaps our organisations may work in tandem to apply political pressure in Rheinland to effect this withdrawal. Unfortunately, failing this, there will be no option remaining but for retaliatory military be undertaken as a last resort. We hope it will not come to this.
The regrettable situation in the Sigma systems continues to this day, however it is not one that House Rheinland, House Kusari or the Gas Miners Guild can sustain indefinitely. All conflicts eventually come to a close and it is anticipated our war will be no different.
It is clear to all that the Sigma-21 system has come to the Federal Republic of Rheinland's attention. Sigma-21 as yet remains undeveloped due to the outbreak of fighting, however its appreciable resources will eventually be exploited to the benefit of all lawful business ventures involved, in a free and open commerce hub located in secure, sovereign Guild space. Given Rheinland's interest in the system, it is surely a certainty the Bundestag will not accept having no hand in the day-to-day affairs of Sigma-21.
Frankly, The Guild has no intention of denying the entirety of Rheinland access to the system. This would be poor business practice and harmful to relations with one of the five houses, which is not GMG's intent.
It is for this reason ALG is approached, in the hopes of establishing a working partnership in the system. The Guild and ALG have long enjoyed cordial relations, persisting even through the folly of the Rheinland Military, and the patience and support displayed by yourself and organisation are most gratefully received. ALG is therefore formally invited to work with The Guild in the development of Sigma-21 and, hopefully, act as conduit to reassure the Bundestag that Rheinland interests are sufficiently represented in the area.
Atzenbruck here. It seems we can both see the writing on the wall at this time. Enthusiasm for further investment into this war is running out, and talks about a peace deal are becoming more frequent.
All the way back in '24, when initial surveys and settlement were underway, we partnered with the Taiheiyo Consortium, a GMG branch, to participate in the Sigma-21 project. We sent extra security and clashed with Unioners, who were trying to muscle their way into the Sigmas at the time.
We also sent the R&D survey vessel Cirrus to extensively map the system, with promising results.
If the war is indeed grinding to a halt, we must act quickly to resume our cooperation, as it will be economic strength rather than military that will decide the future of the region. We are off to a good start, having the advantage of primacy, as ALG-GMG operations on Saigon were more firmly established than others at the outbreak of the conflict.
When the dust settles, we will make sure that there are strong bonuses in place for shipments to the planet and our other Sigma stations, and Epsilon squadron will resume patrols into the system. I also advise that we build up a proper capital spaceport in which we have dominant influence over the inevitable flood of corporate interests from the houses. We should stay in close contact and hold talks as soon as we sniff out any relevant development regarding the system's future.
