Weird, you seem to be the only person that is unable to deal with EK-Cruising battleships. Whenever I fly a cruiser, I can just make a turn to the side and thrust and am out of effective firing range of the battleship the moment it gains power again.
Seriously, battleships are lacking reasonable capabilities against battlecruisers and cruisers that aren't mechanical exploits like blindfire. Adding CDs to a battleship counters literally only this one thing while it enables people to pirate in battleships, which should never be a thing. It shouldn't be a thing in cruisers and battlecruisers either. Even battlecruisers can realistically gain enough distance from an EK-ing battleship by just turning to the side and thrust-dodging. I know cruiser/battlecruiser players are used to be able to fire 90% of their time but in this instance you might want to focus on dodging more than holding RB to fire your mortars.
Pirating in battleships is no worse than pirating in cruisers. That is like comparing getting shot in the head by a rifle, and getting shot in the head by a cannon. Although the latter makes a bigger explosion, both will certainly kill you.

nvm i got it, you know if you cruise on ships with full power your energy doesnt go up for like 10 seconds but if you EK from 2k or 3k, your energy starts recharging as soon as hostile ship is 500-600m away from you

Maybe make them sacrifice primary slot for that too?

Fixed.
And yes I agree with Sombs in this one. Battleships with cd's just because some players manages to EK on you isn't enough to justify it. Any reason ain't enough to justify it imo, due to the abuse it would lead in almost every situation.
Then you probably get the idea why I am for the removal of CDs from the already omnipotent cruisers in first place. Knowing the QQ from all cruiser players who still pretend cruisers aren't the safest bet for solo players, I don't even voice that anymore.
Cruisers and Battlecruisers are not the problem here. They have no issue with Cding battleships or escaping from them most of the time. Problem is a Light BS has like no chance if Heavy BS gets close
That is why im saying it should track Battleships only, to prevent Battleships from cruising on Light BS or Damaged Battleships. No more Cruise only pews
I like the idea of battleships with CDs because it would enable me to solo-raid, instead of having to call CDers (who never log because CDing is boring) and having to rely on their always questionable CDing "skill". I think that adding CDs to battleships would save me from screaming "CDCDCDCDCDCDCDCDCDCD" constantly instead of shooting, getting annoyed when no one CDs the target, and it would save the supposed, would-be CDers from my thunderous rage. It would also enable them to actually participate in the snub fight, instead of CDing what and when I want them to.
I switched to battlecruisers recently only because they have a CD slot.
It's really not hard to avoid or get away from someone pirating in a Cruiser or Battlecruiser. They are considerably slower than you.
And groups of cap armoured transports can kill Cruisers and Battlecruisers.

I was against the idea, but when you word it like this I'm now for it.
This is one of the few places where I roll in and think "there ought be out of game-mechanics rules about this"
Because...if we could separate the role of preying on defenseless transports and smaller ships, from the role of being ship of the line defense stations for the smaller caps, then I wou'ldn't see why a battleship ought not get, even, multiple CDs. A battleship, by all rights, ought be able to stop its prey from fleeing. Unfortunately, we also want to make the game a good experience for the prey, and that generally falls to not letting the capitalships be as omnipotent as they would be with perfect realism.
But, solo player vs solo player balance is also a concern, as is making combined arms useful. So, yes, if you're in a BS, I think you ought need consorts to survive. With consorts, very powerful. Without, isolated and easy to pick to pieces. In this case, yeah, if you're a BS without anyone around with a CD, that's a shame, but no, I don't think the BS ought get a CD.
