To: Agency 404 From: Armin Jansen, der Alster Union. Subject: Contingencies.
I am very aware that we are not partial to one another, and you will attempt to destroy us in the service of your nation, due to the natural order of things.
We are conversing with you now because your agency attempted to recruit our people within the distant past, to do your bidding within the Rhein. We promptly turned your agency down, again, due to the natural order of things. However, this infers you are open to retrieving information from foreign, hostile sources, and will not dismiss the coming remarks out of hand.
The Separatists have turned upon us, and, as turns of events revolve, this is a revolution in your favour. A stellartactical coup etat in the name of the establishment, as it were. One hostile party will certainly destroy the other. It is a benign day for Liberty and a general pain in the neck for everyone upon our side of the law. I doubt you would do anything but celebrate, were the news of the Union's defeat in Bering reach your desk, yet there remains a certain chilling urgency to the situation: It is in Liberty's interest that the Separatists do not secure the Union's shipyards and warship maintenance facilities.
Whilst we might cause significant property damage to corporations, we generally have no culpable intent towards other than feathering our own pockets with the odd act of banditry . The Separatists, on the other hand, will attempt to surrogate the Libertonian government for a military dictatorship. With Admiral Knight gilded with the proverbial laurel, of course.
This is a candid tip-off, that you clearly didn't here from us, being enemies of the state, that the Separatists and the Hellfire Legion are working hand-in-glove. To the point that the first could be considered an appendage of the second. This information may be entirely useless to you, but it is a start. Whatever case you can build against the Intentions of ADM Knight will fortify Liberty's case in the PR war she is waging to bring disenfranchised Libertonian crews to her cause.
If you wish to persue such line of questioning to its source, The Unioners will conveniently look the other way for the coming month if your agents are sighted in the Tanner Belt. Unless you engage said Unioners, of course - which would be, again, the natural order of things.
Good luck, my enemy.
Regards,
Armin Jansen.
