Very well Premier, if you will all take a look at the following document we have drawn up in advance and tell us your thoughts on it. He said putting a folder on the table, opening it and sliding it toward the opposite delegation.
Novikov would slide the document over to Keller with a respectful nod, to which Keller would give him a considerate glance before silently inspecting the exact wording for himself. He briefly thought of the life he could have had if things had turned out differently, the life of a diplomat that drafted documentation such as this on a daily basis. Yet instead, he was here now not as a man mighty with the pen, but as a glorified killer with a proud sense of uniformed fashion. His pen felt heavy, but he made the movements necessary to scribe his signature, a nuance he'd all but forgotten.
"Knowing Humanity - We will be duty, bloody and unavoidable."
It seemed that the Premier's bid for haste had paid off. With the other Coalition representation having reviewed and signed the documentation, the folder eventually made its way to him. Taking and looking at the paper within, Selim's eyes scanned it a bit more thoroughly than his peers, though it still took only about a minute or two for him to do so. Digging into his pockets, he soon brandished a red pen, a bit more ornate and deemed suitable for the people's head of state. With it he affixed his name to the treaty paper, formally canonizing the treaty in the eyes of the Coalition.
As soon as he was done, he put his pen away, and, with the names of the other Coalition officials also on the paper, he sent it back to the Brets.
Very well The Director said, adding his own name to the document and passing it to the Armed Forces representative for review. The man nodded and handed it back to the Director. This document will be sent to both the Prime Minister, First Sea Lord and of course the Queen herself for their signatures. As you can see, we require two other signatures as well. I will inform the ApS that this is the deal reached and, since it concerns them to a certain extent, requires their signature. Likewise for the Red Hessians, who are you allies. Thus I believe it would be best if you sent this message to them instead of us. Naturally because this document is between Bretonia and the Coalition of Sirius, their signatures are not legally required per se, but it would simplify matters going forward.
Herein it is agreed upon by the Members of the congregations from the Sirius Coalition Military, Bretonian Armed Forces and the Secret Intelligence Service in accordance with Bretonian and Coalition Law. Strength to our people for we honor them in our revolution. For now and forever.
The paperwork was sorted, the main point of business was settled and it was soon time for the delegations to head their different ways. The last bit of the agenda, before departure, was the closing statements. The Premier's would be rather straightforward.
"A metaphorical toast to this new partnership, then. With hope, we may yet curtail the tyrant before it is too late."
Little did the Premier realize his subordinate officials were already busy packing and getting ready to roll out.
Quite so Premier. I hope this will prove to be an amicable relationship for both our nations.
The room was empty in a few minutes, and within a few hours, the delegates had left port Jackson altogether, returning to their various homes to await news of what had been agreed upon.
