The Gas Miners Guild considers the Republic of Liberty to be its friend.
As a result, we must unfortunately inform you that the supply of vital H-Fuel to your House is due to decline as a direct result of the actions of the Federal Republic of Rheinland.
House Rheinland has, for reasons unknown, invaded the Sigma systems, which are rightful Guild territory. GMG has until now taken all reasonable measures to avoid direct conflict, however despite our best efforts to maintain peace, Rheinland insists on upholding its hostile landgrab of GMG space.
The Guild paramilitary must now engage in defensive operations against the unjustified aggression it faces, which unfortunately means the delivery of vital fuel to House Liberty will be adversely affected. This is not a willing consequence of the current situation but one that is, due to the attack on The Guild, outside its control.
The true motivation behind the attack is unknown. House Rheinland may potentially be in league with the Kingdom of Gallia in order to assume complete control of the Sirius Sector, or there may be further ulterior motives at work.
What is clear is that, for no justifiable reason, this offensive will have a direct negative effect on the rest of the Sirius Sector. It is also vital that the Kingdom of Bretonia be informed of the above, and this message has been also directed to them. We regret we will no longer be able to maintain our fuel supply at 100%, and call upon our friends for assistance in this matter.
Your reports of Rheinland's aggression on your sovereign territory and in particular threatening your gas reserves are deeply concerning to the Republic of Liberty. We appreciate your efforts to attempt to deliver vital fuel shipments to Liberty in spite of such conflict, and I believe the Treasury Department is currently reviewing a package of economic subsidies, although they are currently walking the line of neutrality.
Unfortunately, that line of neutrality is central to the issue of our response, Guildmaster. The Republic of Liberty does rely on those fuel shipments, this much is true, but we can ill afford to flare any new conflict with the Bundesrepublik and we are worried that any move beyond diplomatic action will push us toward that mark once again. Our Republic will continue to speak on the matter and update you if this policy changes, but for the moment we must offer only what assistance is possible under the current circumstances.
Your reply is most appreciated and the position of your and your House is of course understood.
Regretfully, The Guild has now been forced to alter its strategy and, in self-defence, effect strikes on the Rheinland Military, both in the Sigma systems and Rheinland space. This redirection of Guild resources will as of now force all planned fuel deliveries to the Republic of Liberty to be cancelled as our paramilitary manoeuvres to face the invaders in combat.
This is a most regrettable series of events, however with the exception of House Rheinland ceasing its assault on the Gas Miners Guild, unavoidable. As your friends, we shall endeavour to provide you with updates on the situation as appropriate.
