Dont fix what aint broke and accept the limitations presented.
Yes the Colony ship is huge, but it's a battleship and massive roleplay token all in one. Yes it takes a ton of resources to get one inRP, and there are very few, but they're absolutely worth it. You have the roleplay capacity of a small installation on the move, and little consequence other than cumbersome travel.
The Carrier is actually quite good, but it falls victim to having fleet use without a fleet.
If you want a light battleship, you have three factions around you that have capable light battleships in your direct vicinity in the Omicrons, and if you don't want to work with them, find someone who fits what you want and go get it. That's why SRP's exist. If for some reason it's in your best interest to have a light battleship for Zoner reasons, go talk to someone who makes one. Zoners profit on expansion, and thus would streamline that ability, not warfare. Not to say they're pacifists, but diplomacy and economy cause the populous to thrive far beyond conflict.
i agree with titan. i prefer a more powerfull fearless and aquilon has zoner capital ships. the neph should be a mandatory rp ship, yo ucan only have it if you rp it, after all it is a mobile freeport, a colony ship
Making a ship SRP only after so many years is a BAD idea. If no one made them SRP only from the beginning, now its way too late since players invested billions in their nephs.

If the player base made a habit of just "accepting the limitations presented" this old space sim server would have died of stagnation long ago. Over the years players have made suggestions on how to improve the Disco experience. Most suggestions get deep-sixed, but some eventually get integrated into the game.
According to second-hand experience, carriers are now lackluster as a solo vessel. I want something I can RP, PVE, and PVP in, without buyer's regret.
The Order, Core, and Corsairs have light BSes, but my Zoner character wouldn't consider any of them as being realistic options. My Zoner character currently pilots a Fearless and is considering his options with another party, which has access to a more robust cruiser.
Zoners, in general, focus on diplomacy in order to survive, but without a credible defense force, even the most finely honed diplomacy won't keep you alive.
Honestly I'd be more interested in reverting the carrier changes so the Aquilon is decent again but A) I'm not a balance guy and B) holy moly I cannot even begin to imagine the backlash that would come from us removing a feature.
