If can be set that navy/police players get cash every 20 minutes they are on on line ( but not if they are docked or they dont MOVE at all ) that will auto prevent AFK and get cash exploit .
You AFK,=you got nothing ,
you move , fight, traveling tradelines= you got money .
i agree, i think navy/police players should travel or patrol around home systems to get paid. If its sitting in front of new berlin or manhattan and eating donuts that guy shouldnt paid.
I actually would like to make this not a cash creation issue, but rather: trade-lanes charge everyone an amount for using the trade lanes (ergo, docking with a lane costs 50K. Then, parties who are law enforcement in their region (navy and police). get charged negative money (As in, paid to use the lanes)
This encourages them to patrol the area that they're supposed to be on, does not pay anyone for being AFK, and makes the choice of getting on a lane more interesting (I can cruise across the system, and make some of my csu back, or take the lanes, and get there faster, but, say, 150-200k poorer)

+1. If we made it a scaling fee to use the lanes based on ship wealth (since it's unfair to charge a new player in a 1Ker what you charge, say, a Cap8 IND Shukensha) then yeah, I could see that being a really neat mechanic. Ageira employees obviously wouldn't have to pay to use the lanes, and neither would the Lane Hackers.
In an alternate timeline where we could do new UI code for FL I would love to be able to do something up where you basically get a "monthly trade lane bill" where you're billed for your usage of the lanes and have 30 days to pay your balance up or you find yourself unable to use trade lanes until your pay your balance and the non-payment fees. I think this would be way too much of a weird, overly complex thing to do entirely through the console though, and it'd be detrimentally confusing to new players.
Well, as for monthly lane fees...can we create an item( which has a expiration date) that is tied into this plugin that keeps you from having to pay? mount the thing, the hook sees that and says "okay, don't charge this guy"
And then, you have illegal versions of them that lane hackers can sell to their friends?
Presumably, under this system, a pirate using the lanes is paying, but under some sort of alias, to not arouse any suspicions.
my thought on this issue about navy/ police is the problem of not actually having a decent reason to log other then they have to to keep there char activity up or there offical tag activity up and with the amount of cash most have on here offering chump change like 7.5m to a cap ship is a waist of time an may at best bring a weeks worth of slightly higher activity by the ID's in question, i think the issue is there isnt enough smuggling or more to the point convoy smuggling, a lone officer no matter what class of ship can not stop nor inforce the law upon 3+ battle transports i.e he has no choice but to call back up, hence bringing activity up, also to many officers still drop 1 liners....."drop your cargo pay the fine" that is the most boring cr*p around and is LSF and LN's sole line of rp before they start shooting -_- takes all the fun out of it and is the reason i log out when they log in, or i smuggle through rhienland instead, RFP kudos to you guys iv had some great RP there smuggling and the fact i lost dosnt matter as it was well worth it just for proper in game RP and i make a point to fly in RH space when i see RFP because i know even with legal cargo i can get some decent RP, if the rules changed to make officers and navy have to into account the RP that is being offered before the decide your lieing then activity will increase, everyone avoids officer chars for the simple fact they DONT RP so there for they get no activity because know one want a bar of them.......... #problem = not enough navy/police activity
#answer = Force above ID's to interact with proper ingame RP and make server rule that under no conditions can a officer use the line or any line thats the same but in different words * drop the cargo pay the fine* that line alone is the sole reason i can name a dozen players who wont fly into certine house space for smuggling runs, a dozen players refusing to fly somewhere is alot of activity those navy and police ID's could be getting but arnt and its there own fault
bumping this we need something to make navy/police ships to stay around and patrol the systems. Mostly police because they didnt appear last few months
