You don't seem to have read up on why the war was initiated in first place. Rheinland is losing the Munich system entirely, and has a refugee crisis because of the population of Nuremberg. Rheinland generally has only somewhat hospitable planets and Sigma-21's Saigon was offering literally a world so intriguing that opening up another war with Kusari was worth it. Of course there was some political play there to make it look like Kusari provoked the war, together with "GMG"s attack on Fulda. Fighting for Dresden and Munich leads nowhere, while Sigma-21 was literally the only perspective to give Rheinland a prospering future.
As a guy analysing foreign policy almost every day from the position of neorealism (+ sporadically structuralism, neoliberalism, and neomarxism) I can tell that this reasoning makes no sense at all. If Rheinland has such grave internal issues, the only reason for war might be to direct domestic unrest elsewhere in the best traditions of propaganda. However, instead of solving the issues the war would only stretch the borders, make Rheinland more vulnerable overall, and certainly succumbing to internal strife that will eventually lead to leftist overthrowing the Government under the auspices of Bundshuh, Red Hessians, and the Coalition.
The planets in Rheinland are big and not that densely populated -> refugees is not an issue if the problem is tackled correctly in administrative and bureaucratic terms. The economy is weak to support another war, especially shortly after losing to Liberty. Thus, Rheinland should have focused on developing the economic power, building the fleet, and projecting power without involving into direct military confrontation.
The reasoning behind the war is purely gameplay. Rheinland was dead, and Kusari was even more dead. However, the regions can:t be truly revitalised with dwindling player base. For those remaining, Omicrons, Taus, and Omegas are by farmore interesting as those offer more ambiguous and grey RP + unconventional PvP (and nommies, ofc )

This and nothing else. Do not waste time with deep inRP analysis why the war does or does not make sense guys (like if Disco is not full of stuff which does not make sense... not to mention that bad decisions, including those related to wars, happen even inRL). Point was to try to give two houses inter-house war which they did not have and it is/was detrimental to activity. Nothing more, nothing less.

Then I got exams and when I passed them, I didn't really feel like playing Disco any more and instead started a hotseat campaign of Medieval 2 TW with Antonio. When that was done, the war had already fizzled out. Managed to get only one pew. I think one of the flaws is that Sigma-21 is too far for the RM, and they can't react to a Hessian infestation if all their ships are in 21. As of Kusari, I only saw a single [KNF] ship take place and I think that the Kusari side failed because there was no one to organize them. Why the war didn't prompt more players to join the [KNF], I don't know. I myself am only interested in capital ships and wouldn't bother grinding through the ranks with a fighter.
PS: And Felipe left. He was very motivated. Haven't seen any initiative from the current RM so far. Haven't see any from the [KNF] during the whole war.

I believe all those lines have a part of the reasons why the war faded out:
1- Ive been away and passed lead to someone who from before passing me the lead opposed to the war (as ive did myself, but for the better of the mod, ive agreed w conditions). Also the realistic need for our ships at home to face the "fights" there (if u can call ganking ships as they undock fights eh no wonder ppl gave up pewing there)
2- Antonio is partially right: Me leading RM meant that some crap and ppl where unwelcomed at RM, and top of that, meant that some of the ooRP relations (bad relations?) influentied in some ppl (Antonio included) decisions about. Like Antonio and some of his friends convincing ppl out the last event on its start and joining in their place, killing the balance that been done (remember that previous events ive done all had been close calls, while that was a massacre that nailed the will of 3 of the most motivated guys).
3-Most Kusarian lawfuls factions are basicly inexistant ingame, most battles happened with few officials and the same playerbase that been playing as RM, emblematic of that, some events happened with entire RM HC playing as Kusari... Most pews that happened where ive participated had at least my 2iC and some others HC as RM enemies, to make our members log.
More has to be considerated, as the war while brought some activity to the military and intel factions, ruined the game for th trading factions of both houses... could be worse, but surely could be better.
In the end, what really is needed is ppl willing to play not only for their fun, but to make fun for the other players too. Whomever been at RM side in pews know that while ive asked many times to ppl to stand down and not gank (theres plenty of vids around showing it if you doubt) some guys been put on a list to be ganked whenever possible, ppl who cried for fairness(especially in public like on forums or main chats), but never hesitate in destroying other ppl fun ganking or simply by grouping 5 aces to rape regular players or noobs.
