What part of "people play this game for years" did you not understand? But then again, I yet have to come across a post of yours that can be taken seriously.

i dont think you're capable of having an argument ever, nor do i want to waste time dealing with your empty headed replies .. so i'll reply with a pictographical representation of this scenario, feel free to PM me incase you need explanation
Look, usually I'd leave it at this and let you live in your world where you paint other people the way you want them to be. This time I'll take your bait and explain things in a way that hopefully you will be able to understand without misconstructing my sentences into the nonsense that you usually return.
First of all, the entire energy you spent on this thread is a waste. The time as well. Wasted. Would you have taken the time to do some trading, you'd probably have made 100.000.000 Credits already. How? Let me help you with ACTUAL math and not what you made up out of child's rage.
Simple commodity trading: Usually less than 20 minutes per run, usually around 10-15 million credits
-> one hour of that means, even if done very ineffectively, with annoying NPCs and what not, 30-45 million credits. Do that once per day when you're bored and you have 210-315 millions in a week by doing very basic stuff without any optimization, simply by using a 5K transport like anyone else who is going for moneymaking.
Smuggling is considerable bit more profitable and almost nobody is logging police/navy for patrols. Even if you get caught, you spend two millions on a rename afterwards and can go again.
Most people here know at least two PoBs that are actively supplied with ores/relics each day. Ore trading pretty much doubles your income in comparison with normal low-efficiency trading and you can make roughly 80.000.000 per hour with some routes. If you optimize your routes and ships with the right rep, everything is easy and efficient.
And then you have events. Some are broken, some less. Right now, there is an event in Omicron Lost and Silverlight, Venkman, Erzie, Kalh and a whole lot of other people have been making a crapton of money by cooperatively mining and hauling, and they had enough fun to do that for hours.
I myself have a job, real life obligations and contacts, and still can do trading in Discovery. Each week I log around 5-10 hours on various indies, doing all kinds of things but mostly trading. There are cases where it is less than that, where I have simply too much to do or play other games with the community, but I'm definitely not logging all day for trading. Things like that I did only during extremely profitable events, and many people did the same.
TLDR: You could have read this post while being logged into the game and bringing stuff from A to B. You didn't but could have? Your fault. Stop whining. You couldn't have? There is always some time you have spare. Want to watch something on YouTube? Log your trader in the meantime. Listen to some music, sit in voice chat with friends, polish your finger nails, etc. I even cook sometimes during trading. There are enough routes that don't require the use of lanes.
Just quoting smt that really seems a poor excuse to me (luv u Denis, u know that, but)

Well, that usually didnt prevented admins/devs of changing all they wanted...
Jumps+Cloaks could not be used at same time anymore, turning the cloak+jd4 Bustards useless for pob defense. BC's changed in playstile entirely, no refunding, not even after some 4 weapon changes, that for some ppl like me that had many (if not all) BC's of game a pretty decent money loss.
About the thread itself, i say that since it been implemented: it need be fair, equal opportunities for everyone.
Some cant be at events, some dont know admins shipnames, while some know exactly when and where to log. (dont ask me how).
If wasnt by the fact that some guns are really OP, would not be that much of a problem, but as with some guns in decent skilled hands turn those players into "Virtually invincible beasts" it not being disponible for everyone is indeed a problem.
Price itself, if is disponible *FOR EVERYONE AT ANY TIME* is irrelevant: if is a "pay4win" ppl who decide to pay for it will do anyway, the point for me, since the beggining, is that some ppl easily have, i saw bills worth weapons being sold for prices like 200m, one hardly believe such guns been rped and bought w data... While others spend many billions for same gun, and prefer selling a kidney than said gun.
Moneysinks by definition are things you purchase for no direct benefit, but either show off how incredibly rich you are, is an incredibly, stupidly rare item that has no true benefit besides being incredibly stupidly rare (see also showing off incredibly rich) or provide amusement in one way or another.
SciData weapons often being the best-in-slot equipment does not make them moneysinks, it simply makes them undesirable for the average player to pursue.
A proper example of a moneysink is the Gilded Armor from Runescape. Statistically identical to the best F2P armor in the game, but it costs enough to buy 6 or 7 monthly subscriptions with Gold simply because of how rare it is.
Nothing is gained by spending 25+ million on the armor as opposed to 100,000 on a statistically identical set.
It's simply a moneysink.
A term you people seem to not understand.
Yes, I'm aware of the existence of the uber-expensive best-in-slot items in runescape, and they're so hilariously expensive with such a minor attribute boost at the risk of being lost permanently in pvp that they might as well not exist.
I still think it's funny/sad that scientific data mostly comes from combat-related activities. Sure, you can randomly find it on hidden admin pobs, but the chances are incredibly low if they're even getting repopped in the first place.
Why are we not getting scientific data from actual scientific actions?
My humble opinion is that these weapons be made obtainable through wrecks or built on PoBs like cloaks, jumpdrives etc.
Titan wanted versatility in battleship combat instead of usual HM or prim battles. as such, no special weapon has distinct advantages over normal weapons (apart from kinetics).
Making these weapons use scidata was a mistake, you will not see much variety of tactics or battles since these weapons now cost at a maximum of 2.5billion per gun (that's ridiculous). I understand Denis' point as well, would be unfair for the people who spent billions on these guns only for them to be changed in price. The codeguns were meant to bring variety and fun to battleship combat but are only available to people who have too much money to spare.
Personally i want scidata to be use on cosmetics only, custom ship skins or special effects for guns.
The only weapon for scidata that is "pay2win" is Kinetic, the other ones are just different frim their normal counterpart and come with up- and downsides.
-someone who has had nearly every Scidata weapon that exists
Last words are for fools who have not yet said enough.
