I have some questions regarding the 5k transports and pricing:
• Why is the Titanic the cheapest when it has the best turning radius?
• Why are the house transports all different prices if they are just different flavors of the same thing?
• What is the justification that Liberty has the cheapest and Gallia has the most expensive (and everything in between)? I can understand Zoners being cheaper because they can not dock in house space, but the others?
I used to fly Stork back in the day, but now that it is 4800 I am looking at these other ships. Lastly, anyone have experience with Mastadon and Ryuujin? I am wondering if one has much better handling than the other.
The 5k have different size hitboxes and number of guns.
Not that it makes any difference nowadays, since there are harldy and pirates left, and the ones that are left dont pirate in a ship that leaves transports a fighting chance.
They also have different abilities to no get stuck in lanes.
The Stork was one of the best ships that rarely got stuck in lanes.
But instead of giving the other transports similar characteristics that would allow them to also get stuck in lanes less and therefore suck less, devs chose to make the stork suck more by reducing the cargo size.
After all, this is discovery, and the dev team we have.
They used to when stork was still a 5k. Not sure now.
Apart from the matter of agility, guns, hitboxes, lane suckiness, survivability to pirates, there's also (or at least use to be) the matter of number of factions they're readily available to. Also some ships are prettier than others. Or they got more customizable lights.
But I wouldnt really look for logic in anything the dev/admin team decides tbh. That would be too much wishful thinking. It's more a matter of what made more endorphins release in who's brain at what random point of decision making.
