Name: Krusa Corraine
Home System: New York
Age: 37
Born in 788 A.S, his family was able to remain safe through the year that would become known as the Nomad War. His father, while working for the LPI, would hear rumors as they spread about what was going on -- often earning a few stern looks from pilots within the other branches of Liberty’s forces, unsure whether he heard anything he shouldn’t. During his early teens, hearing about these rumors would settle his overbearing curiosity even if it was only temporary.
Always one to dive right into any knowledge he could even if he had trouble comprehending it fully at the time, he wanted more as he entered early adulthood. Rather than joining the LPI and following in his father’s footsteps, he eventually joined the ranks of the Liberty Security Force as an agent. After all, there was knowledge out there...waiting… and he wouldn’t even be able to reach for it if confined to the borders of Liberty.
Within the LSF, even as an agent within a secondary branch, there was no lack of resources. Over time, and following the developments of the Liberty Autonomous Sentinel Project, a similar project was started with Krusa Corraine at the head of its development -- a sentient, albeit with fail-safes installed, artificial intelligence drone. Eventually, leading the project, as well as the amount of effort from Krusa himself, resulted in a promotion from Agent to Senior Agent.
Through some of the testing phases, there were… some undesirable results. Ranging from some units failing in the first trial sets because the ship couldn’t handle the power load from the system -- to the units that did make it to this stage even failing some of the final, reduced power live-fire trials. Surprisingly, reviewing the data from these units, they immediately picked up on the weapon output reduction from the otherwise “hostile” ships and, for all intents and purposes, was performing better than expected.
These units were the best options to move into actual combat situations.
Unit 043, fitted to a custom BDR-804 fighter
Unit 062, fitted to a E78-12 freighter equipped as a mixed fighter-bomber
Unit 059, as the best candidate of the three, was retrofitted into a Gammu AI Core that was effectively “dead” from a direct hit during an ion storm. Already better than the other two units, this gap widened even more from the capabilities of the vessel -- firepower, effective operational area, survivability, and more. This was not without risk, however. The one downside to Unit 059, if any in comparison to the other units, is that its vessel is, by itself, a sentient machine. It is possible that its previous AI was not completely wiped out by the hit in the ion storm.
The on-going successes of the project did not go unnoticed. Under David Copperfield as Director of the primary branch of the Liberty Security Forces, Krusa was promoted from senior agent to Director of the secondary branch for Research and Development.
//This is a rewrite of an old thread for my character that i no longer have access to in order to consolidate things and hopefully word things better as it continues on. At least with this I'll feel better about moving on to my battlecruiser.
