Republican Shipping is a Rheinland shipping giant that also maintains one of the largest commercial shipyards in the Sirius sector. The Company manages a substantial majority of all cargo transported within the borders of Rheinland, from base supplies to trading. Republican was the exclusive supplier for all Federal Police installations in Rheinland, and hopes that it can reclaim that status. It is the premier Rheinland shipping firm.
Company Goals:
1.Build up its reputation once again, and promote the Rheinland economy in doing so.
2. Rebuild its shipping fleet, and to offer the highest standards in Sirius. With help of the R&D Department, we hope to improve the current models, and to produce new unique models in the future as the current models are being outdated.
3. Recreate it's public image, and to increase employment with in Rheinland. To not repeat the same mistakes that stains its past.
4. To repair and maintain tradelanes that have been damaged, as well as to improve various sectors on Rheinland Planets, such as improve Agricultural holdings of Planet Nuremburg.
5. Rebuild Bonn into the proper Center of Commerce in Rheinland or alternatively, decommission Bonn and use it to build a new modern station as part of Republicans modernization project.
6. Aiding the friendly organisations of Rheinland in delivering supplies within and beyond Rheinland borders. Build healthy relations with business corporations around Sirius who are friendly and/or neutral to Rheinland and its corporates.
8. Active assistance to Rheinland Police.
History of Development
Republican Shipping has a long past. It started long before the 80-years war. Back then, the company was known as Imperial Shipping. Republican Shipping were the major government shipping company and we did aid the Rheinland Imperial Forces in all ways we could during all the difficult times that it faced.
Republican Shipping aka Imperial shipping during that time, set the first foot in establishing themselves by building Freiburg Station. Freiburg Station was constructed in 312 A.S. as a clearinghouse for produce harvested on Stuttgart. It remained as a central collection place where participants maintained an account against which credits or debits were posted.
The Imperial Shipping then heightened their reverent relations with other Rheinland corporations and Police, with the establishment of Alster Shipyard. The shipyard opened in 412 AS, specializing in commercial transports and heavy lifters.
The Shipyard was acclaimed the most profitable installations for the company during that period until the unfortunate accident occurred in 512 A.S.
Three months later, the workers formed the Alster Union. Because of their highly specialized skills, the management had no choice but to capitulate to their demands. During the next century the union gradually strengthened and eventually included the dockworkers on the Altona Station above Hamburg.
When the 80-Years War broke out, The Company was sitting pretty on a mountain of government subsidies and contracts.
By the end of the 80-Years War, the union demanded increasingly high wages and progressively fewer annual hours. The system was out of balance. Republican was no longer competitive with Kusarian shipbuilders.
After the end of the war, Rheinland’s economy and government was collapsing in on itself, which directly affected the government contracts that already were under production in Alster.
With Liberty giving a large loan, Imperial Shipping managed to finish the on-going contracts and deliveries.
Adding to the difficulties was even another incident in history that shaped the company Republican is now.
On Von Rohe's Day, 672 A.S., Daumann mining stations in Dresden were seized and locked down by miners in a widespread general strike. Supplied by Bundschuh revolutionaries, the miners managed to hold out on the station for weeks before word finally got out to the rest of Rheinland. Three months later, workers disabled other Daumann facilities on Planet New Berlin, joining in the protests. With the industrial heart of the economy grinding to a halt, riots beginning to pop up all across Rheinland. The Union of Imperial Shipping actively took part in the revolt despite the order of the executives which had asked them to step down their support.
There were no more government contracts, and unemployment skyrocketed.
A period of tense negotiations follows, and a coalition government is eventually formed, and the former empire would now become a federal republic.
Imperial Shipping became Republican Shipping after the Popular Revolt and thus it got formally announced on 672 A.S.
With the war over, demand for ships plummeted. The bloated headcount of Alster was now a sore point for Republican Shipping, desperately trying to restore profitability.
This shipyard was once controlled by the unions, who demanded ever higher wages and longer vacations.
Republican could afford their extravagant demands during the Eighty Years War. But when the hard times hit, we had to make adjustments in order to remain profitable. Republican Shipping had no choice other than decreasing the working staff. They looked for assets and started numbering the liabilities. With a stipulated grade pay, they had to fire them.
Unfortunately, the workers felt the company was backstabbing them. The Company tried to reason with them but only in vain. They soon started to disrupt our convoys which made them move up the acclivity of our hostility and so with the Rheinland Police.
While the Alster Shipyards continues to operate, Republican Shipping in conjunction with the Rheinland Federal Police have managed to purge out most of the (so called) Unioners from the facility.
Soon after, Republican built a base with their newly formed and staffed members, Altona Station was re-established in 706 A.S. to handle all the goods flowing into Rheinland from Liberty, It has been an important base for Republican Shipping for over a century. In recent years, especially with the increasing tensions with Liberty, business onboard the station has slowly been declining in favour of relatively new warehouse facilities on the surface of planet Hamburg.
With the outbreak of war between Rheinland and Liberty in 712 A.S., the Altona Station is finding itself in an increasingly Military role. The close proximity to Hamburg and the Docking Ring already had been providing a moderate level of security to the station and with a slowly increasing Military garrison, enhanced armor and a new turret defense system the station is being used as the first line of defense against Libertonian attacks against Hamburg now.
Ingolstadt Station was constructed in 730 A.S., a considerable amount of time after the initial colonisation of the planet Nuremberg, in order to handle the ever increasing exports of military vehicles from Nuremberg. Most of the space onboard the station is taken up with secure storage bays for the vehicles, and dozens of ships dock with the orbital facility every day.
After the Nomad War ended in 801 A.S., Republican Shipping decided to move its center of operations to the Munich system, and although there are large corporate offices planet side, Ingolstadt Station was expanded considerably with additional modules to accommodate the increased administrative workforce, and now serves as the headquarters for the Republican Shipping Corporation throughout Rheinland.
In recent years security has been tightened considerably around the station after the Unioners have expanded their operations in the Munich system. After an attack by the Unioners in 815 A.S., which left over seven hundred personnel onboard the station dead, Republican Shipping has requested additional weapons platforms to bolster defenses.
Present days
On 819 .A.S. Gallia had secretly been constructing a Jump Gate in the Rishiri system and several weeks after the Kusari Republican Government has reached a trade agreement with the Kingdom of Gallia, opening their respective borders for commercial traffic. The small group of Republican Shipping’s pilots were sent to Gallia to investigate a new way and establish a cooperative relationship. Though the way appeared not short it became clear that Kingdom of Gallia is interested in mutually beneficial trade cooperation and is ready to buy necessary goods at the high price. Supply of ore and diamonds appeared the most needed and Republican readily agreed to supply them what was needed. The problem was only one, the long range, but to general good luck, our technological team sorted this out. The Company decided to use all the new opportunities combined with latest technologies for making shipments easier to Gallian territories.
After the Rheinland Liberty war ended, Republican Shipping opened their forts to commence trading with Liberty in order to continue business as usual as soon as possible.
Shortly after, Republican Shipping went through some hard times. Their old ways of doing business and treating the work force, back fired and lead the company into dangerous waters financially which lead to operational failures. All contracts that were in place got cancelled due to service delivery and Republican Shipping was heading towards bankruptcy. The few workers and management that was left, struggled to keep the company a float. They resulted to doing small short term contracts. Management gave the order to find what work the employees can get, until such time that management gets back to them with a plan.
Months passed before the message came through. Through personal sacrifices, the executive members sold off their assets to make sure the once great Republican Shipping, that’s been around for over 500 years, does not vanish to the pages of history. They reorganized the leadership and employed young vibrant staff to take the company to the future.
In 826 A.S. Republican Shipping Re-launched under the new leadership. It was in the direction many did not expect, as in previous years there was more older, educated, and mature leaders. Under the leadership of Niklas Mayer Republican Shipping made swift changes, from taking contracts outside of Rheinland to moving RS HQ to expanding RS outside of Rheinland space.
At first Republican Shipping reached out to its fellow corporates in Rheinland to try get a contract to promote growth, but very little was heard back. So they looked to nearby systems such as Omicron Rho and The Core. The Core welcomed Republican Shipping by letting them part take on a contract, and to set up a warehouse station called Harrismith. This was the first step in its expansion. Harrismith would provide local Miners and Hauls a resting spot and to buy valuable Ores from the region.
After weeks on this project, they set their eyes on relocating the HQ from Ingolstadt Station to a new Station called Duisburg, just 12k shy of Dortmund and Essen. Even though it was not planned, but when you look to Duisburg as you enter New Berlin, it can be seen as Republican Shipping rising from the sun. Some believe this is a good omen as to say Rheinland will rise once more.
After various encounters from pirates in the Omegas, Republican Shipping got the Bretonian lawfuls and Rheinland lawfuls together fora common cause, to protect the trade route between these two houses. This opened up channels to the Junker factions, to condemn what happened in the Omegas and to rather do business together. During this time EFL contacted Republican Shipping to assist with the construction of the Sigma-15 Jumpgate and Rheinland tradelanes.
An unfortunate incident was the Unioners attack on Altona Station, heavily damaging the station, and leaving numerous dead. Republican Shipping has dedicated its resources to bring those people to justice.
Present Times and future Goals:
Republican Shipping has gone back to its roots with it, taken on a modern outlook to modernize the company and breath fresh air into it.
After few years of drawing away from the public eye and focusing on remodelling the company, Republican Shipping is ready to open its doors once more and rise beyond of what it once was.
The Company has planned out stages for which it will focus on to build upon for many years to come. Focus on trade first and foremost, then to supply bases with essential commodities. From there we will focus on gaining the trust of the government so as to work back again effectively on the contracts and deals provided.
There have been ideas, models and planned details about increasing security at our headquarters at Munich. As well as a possibility of moving the HQ into New Berlin to centralise its self with Rheinland and to put off attacks coming from the border worlds and the high outlaw presence in Munich. The company will be keeping the storage facilities on Planet Hamburg.
We will be looking to enhance the current models of transports and trains, possibly to look into an addition new model to the range.
The company will be focusing on upgrading the old stations, and tightening the security of them as well. When contracts fade away, we have decided to prepare for it and setup storage depots to still fund the pay wages of the employees.
Under the guidance of Niklas Mayer as president of Republican Shipping, we will pave the way forward for Rheinland. We aim to make history, and not just be part of it.

Jan -RS contacts Bundestag, DHC, Kruger, RM, RFP, BDM to get contracts again to support Rheinland. RS contacts Core to negotiate building a warehouse in Rho and to conduct business with Core. A big Shipping company to assist Core in logistics and possible expansion if needed. Junkers start pirating RS ships between Bretonia and Rheinland causing BPA and RM to secure the trade route between both houses. EFL contacts Rheinland Corps, RS starts helping ship tradelane parts for Frankfurt/Sigma-15 tradelanes and Jumpgate. Rs reaches out to Junker Congress to assist with the Junker issue and negotiates a trade deal for Premium Scrap and Military salvage. Agatha AI is connected to RS stations to confirm deliveries to RS stations.
Feb –Altona station gets hit by a Unioner NEMP while being defended by RS security wing and RM forces. Duisburg, RS new HQ under goes expansion to Core 2 to become the central hub of RS operations. RS is granted permission to haul Azurite in Rheinland space. RS is contacted by Bowex to use Alster Shipyard to create vessels during the Bretonia/Gallia war. RS purchases a civilian Liner for its liner fleet.
March –Trade Centre Lubeck is constructed in Sigma 21 in orbit of Saigon, and destroyed by GMG. It is then constructed again, and later destroyed. Crew land on Saigon where supplies have been sent to establish a base of operations along side RM. Ms. Bauer contacts Niklas Mayer to fund her project named Hanse Agricultural. RS contacts Cambridge university and Yuma University for the Hanse Project. Results seem pleasing on paper.
April –Bowex agrees to the terms, and RS starts producing Bowex vessels. RFP contacts RS for protection of RS vessels within Rheinland. RM and LPI request RS services for their projects.
May –RS contacts Zoners to help make Biodomes for Hanse project. Agatha AI confirms Ms.Bauers findings with calculated estimates regard of area and possible outcomes of traditional farming. RS contacts DHC to assist expanding Duisburg as well as to dismantle Ingolstadt and to relocate it out of Munich system. CEO of RS is requested to a meeting with Mr Albrecht to talk about Rheinlands future.

I'm pretty sure these were just listed as goals rather than something they were claiming they can do already? It looks like they (like the rest of Rheinland) what to remove their dependence on other houses when it comes to lane tech.

Thank you so much for that, it is more appreciated than you know. I still want to do a lot of RP with Unioners but currently we are only 2 active members. So we are limited at this moment. But we will discuss ideas together and do some brain storming. This is just the start of what I hope to something big.
