Bonjour,
Before to aboard the main subject, it would be more professional if you would have an idea who I am. My name is Pierre Vaillant, Commandant et officier supérieur de la Marine Royale Gauloise.
I guess you haven't received a comminucation from the Marine from... a certain time already. It doesn't matter. If I contact you today that's because I would require your service precisely. Though I need to advise you. This subject is strictely confidential. I have my crows so if something is going wrong, I would know it imediately. Keep the secret and everything will be fine.
This being said, we can pursue. The Marine is going to repair a old warship actually located in Languedoc. I am sure you know what I am refering to. We are going to bring back the Cassard into the Marine. We need your help to bring it, and I precise the hull in its all integrity, to Fouchambault shipyard in Dauphine. Even if the system is close to Languedoc, this operation is risky and requires an absolute delicacy.
We are trusting in your knowledge for this matter. We plan to use sourcing tug craft for the operation. Or do you have any other ideas how we could process?
Sincèrement
Marine Royal Gauloise, Commandant Pierre Vaillant.

Bonjour Commandant Vaillant,
I am Pierre St. Denis, CEO of Gallic Metal Service.
We have done a few favours in the past for the Marine Royale Gauloise, the last being supplying the Front Line Fleets essential commodities.
Now down to your strange request. I can honestly say that we have had no experience in moving large Ships as the one that you mentioned. That being said, we have moved assets from Maine before its untimely demise. Having spoken with my experts, they suggest that moving a large Warship is not much different, logistically, from moving Stations.
Now we have found that using the Rock Badgers Engines and controls (this allows them to finely control their positioning when mining) provides an extremely useful device to move large objects. It isn't fast, but it provides the required mobility to steer around Asteroid Belts and Debris Fields.
We have, in Storage, 8 Contained Units for the moving of Stations. We would suggest that 4 Units could be attached, 1 at each quarter of the Ship, and that this would be sufficient to move the Cassard, from its present position, to the Fouchambault Shipyard in about 4-6 weeks, once the Units are attached.
If you require a faster movement of the Cassard, have you thought, maybe, of using the Jump Technology to get it near to the Fouchambault and Tugs to move it the last part? We do not have Ships large enough to utilise the said Technology, so we are not sure why Ships can be jumped, but apparently not any debris in the local area. Maybe you can throw some light on this..........or not, if the information is too sensitive.
Let me know of your thoughts.
Cordialement,
Pierre St.Denis

Bonjour Monsieur St.Denis,
Thanks for your clear answer. Yes it indeed a very strange request. I will imediately explain what I am thinking about your proposition.
The Rock Badgers Engines are an excellent idea. More safe than the jump drive technology. Considering the situation of the Cassard, I would be afraid if this one doesn't resist to the jump.
That's why I will accept your first idea. Despite the time this will take, it doesn't matter. You may begin imediately to attach the engines on the Cassard. Meanwhile, I will provide a regular escort during the whole operation. I guess our enemy would like to invite themselves in the party, thing we won't let them.
Contact me frequently about the progress. In any way, I will be around to put you back on schedule if necessary.
Bonne chance!
Sincèrement
Marine Royal Gauloise, Commandant Pierre Vaillant.

Bonjour Commandant Vaillant,
A small update as to where we are.
Currently we have moved 5 of the Contained Units to one of our Bases in Languedoc, Lodeve Space Port, and are in the process of doing full diagnostic checks on them, as they have been in 'mothballed' since our last usage of them
Once 4 have been fully checked out and ready for service, we will move them in to place on the Cassard.
Our first task, once that has been done, is to orientate it so that it is facing the direction of travel.
We are still discussing the best route and what other resources, if any, will be needed. Once we have decided on the route, we will inform you of it.
I hope this meets with your approval.
Cordialement,
Pierre St.Denis

Bonjour Monsieur St.Denis,
That's good to hear good news from you. There is absolutely no issue with this. I deployed two cruisers and a squadron to give you a complete protection during the operation.
Inform me about the situation soon.
Bonne chance!

Bonjour Commandant Vaillant,
Another small update as to where we are.
We have decided on a Plan of Attack. The Contained Units, as we speak, are being moved in to position and the intention is to start moving the Cassard in the next 24 hours. In the meantime a Team will be removing the debris in the immediate vicinity to reduce the chance of further damage being caused.
Our route will be as follows:
1) Head to the East of Planets Cerbere and Sete. This avoids using the Trade Lanes and the Remoulins Wreck/the field of Debris surrounding it.
2) Then head to the edge of the Lozere Asteroid Field nearest the Gate. In the meantime a Team of Miners will be clearing a path through to the Gate.
The reason we are avoiding the Trade Lanes, initially, is that if they are disrupted, whilst in transit, it could mean extensive damage being caused to the Cassard.
3) Once through the Gate we will use the Trade Lane and 'drop out' before we reach Gap Station and thus avoid potential damage from the Borgon-Jallieu Debris Field.
4) We will then pass to the East of Gap Station and head straight for Fouchambault Shipyard.
Our best guess, as to a timescale is about 4-6 weeks. We cannot envisage it happening any faster.
I hope this meets with your approval.
Cordialement,
Pierre St.Denis

Bonjour Commandant Vaillant,
The latest update on the movement of the Cassard.
We had a small problem, where one of the Contained Units broke down (no damage done to the Cassard). We had to remove it and replaced it with the spare Unit we had delivered to Lodeve. This cost us a few lost days.
If you remember, our first part of the planned route was as follows:
Quote:1) Head to the East of Planets Cerbere and Sete. This avoids using the Trade Lanes and the Remoulins Wreck/the field of Debris surrounding it.

Bonjour Monsieur St.Denis,
Sorry for the late answer. I have been busy recently in New London. Well I have to say when you informed me of this incident, I believed one moment we lost the Cassard!
Well if you assure me it didn't suffer damage on the hull that's good news. It doesn't matter if we lost few days. The only matter is to bring the Cassard intact to its shipyard. You did a very good job actually. Keep it up.
I'll try to keep a more attentive eye on the operation. I hope I am able to do multiple things at a same time. As usual inform me about the progress.
Bonne chance!

Bonjour Commandant Vaillant,
The latest update on the movement of the Cassard, just to keep you informed.
As you may remember, our last Report informed you that we had completed the first stage of the Salvage Operation by moving the Cassard to the East of the Planets Cerbere and Sete.
Since then we have opened a passage through the Lozere Asteroid Field to the Languedoc/Dauphine Jump Gate.
We then successfully moved the Cassard through the said Field and jumped the Ship in to Dauphine.
We have had some problems with Maquis and Brigands trying to interrupt our operations (supply and movement), but we have persevered.
Hopefully now that we are in Dauphine, the operations will be a lot smoother and with less interruptions.
Are we are likely to see more regular MRG Patrols?
I hope this meets with your approval.
Cordialement,
Pierre St.Denis
