From: Commissioner Patricia Lyons To: Oracles Subj: Charges
Hello and all that.
It's quite interesting to see you lot fly by the lanes and one of my transports without a care in the world. I'll assume your little smuggler said nothing out of shame or because his ship was already in the process of falling apart.
If you pretent not to know what I'm talking about, this is what I mean.
Guess you weren't explicity told to stop so I'll waive that.
Wherever you're bringing these people, you'll bring them back to Liberty. I want to see reports of them safely arriving on Planet Manhattan.
LPI-Bank will receive the fine of 50,000,000 credits within the next 72 hours.
If that time passes without a reply through this channel, I'll have to do all that tedious paper work about APBs, bounties and notifying the LSF and the Navy. All that painful stuff.
So do me a favour and don't keep me waiting.
Yours sincerely,
Commissioner Lyons

Greetings, Commissioner Lyons. I am High Exarch Abrolhos of the Oracles.

As you have asked of us, so it shall be done. I have paid the fine you imposed over my brother.
However, allow me to point a thing out: they were not actual slaves, unlike the scan shows - rather, they were desperate people with nothing to lose, fleeing from their poor and miserable life to search for a new place to live in, a new safe haven. My brother was just doing the part of the 'intermediary' by helping them.
You say it was a crime, yet I ask you: is it a crime to help such poor, forgotten souls in finding a new haven? Is it a crime to help these people to flee from their old, poor and miserable life to rebuild themselves elsewhere, by any means necessary?

Fare thee well, Commissioner.
Addendum: Just so you know, my brother - through me - has sent me a gesture of goodwill: he chose to release more of those poor souls to Liberty as you asked, and he has also changed his own vessel just to assure no more faults on his part. Here, have a look.
