Sender: Lander van den Brink of Cuatroce Recipient: The esteemed government of Her Majesty Queen Carina of Bretonia Subject: A business offer
Geachte heer, mevrouw.
Let me introduce myself first. I am Lander van den Brink, spokesman of Cuatroce, loyal attorney to Don Escudero himself. It is my honor to represent Cuatroce's interests in negotiations with Kingdom of Bretonia. With all respect, we wish for your triumph in war against Kingdom of Gallia in the long run.
The Board of Directors would welcome the opportunity to develop a partnership with Kingdom of Bretonia that should correspond to your strategic interests and ours as well. Our corporation would like to invest in Bretonian economy via purchase of government obligations. We are confident that it should benefit both parties.
As it is obviously seen, at the moment spoken your state is at war, therefore is in need of military power. We, Cuatroce, are small but wealthy, and as we can't provide you direct military support, everything in our power is to fund Bretonian war machine. Under any circumstances, we are no Maecenas, thus guarantees are required so that our interests should be respected. If all of the above appear to be of your interest, Cuatroce is open to further disscussions on possible agreements.
Whether our proposal should be subject of your interest, we are looking forward to your concent, with all respect to the time you should take to consider our proposal.
Met vriendelijke groet,
Lander van den Brink

Lander van den Brink,
I apologise for the delay in the response, while I know you directed your communication towards the government, I think all things considered BAF, and myself personally would be best suited to handling the discussion. I have had experience talking to Outcasts before.
I am willing to hear any thing you have to say, and will involve any relevant parties as is needed. Consider me your person of contact.
Regards,
Commodore John Redmond

Geachte heer Redmond,
Let's get down to business now. Board of Directors is willing to purchase Bretonian government obligations for total amount of 2,000,000,000 (two billion) SC, thus making it easier for your MIC to withstand military losses. The aforementioned transaction should be conducted by an independent bank that we already have an agreement with. The counteragent in question shall act as the guarantor of our deal. If our investment would be successful, Board of Directors will consider another investment into Bretonian economy.
In return, we would welcome to begin negotiations regarding status of Maltese vessels in Bretonian space, namely civilian and escort vessels (up to corvette-sized ones). This opportunity is directed towards an increase in trade between Malta and Bretonia so that our commercial vessels would be protected from piracy by Bretonian law, as any other commercial vessel in domains of The Crown. As for the last detail, no cardamine will be involved in trade between our parties.
Depends on what Bretonia may offer us, we'll think over another investment.
Met vriendelijke groet,
Lander van den Brink

The Government has decided to accept your request for trade, and we would be interested in hearing your trade proposals before the aforementioned sum is delivered to us. At current sir, your request comes across as a request for access, you may now consider such access granted, but in regards to what you wish to bring or take..well that is something we are interested in hearing. Your investment is welcome, but we would ask that you hold on to your money until you are sure of what you can bring and take from Bretonia, otherwise, we fear it would be for nought.
Sender: Lander van den Brink Recipient: Cabinet Secretary Alexander East Priority:Important Subject: A business offer
Geachte heer East,
My best wishes to honorable servants of The Crown. Together we build a new world order, for peace and prosperity to come.
1. Our best interest is to develop a long-time partnership that will serve both of our parties so to eliminate any possible misunderstanding between Malta and Bretonia. First of all, it is our aspiration to eliminate the current threat that we both have encountered, known for everyone as Kingdom of Gallia. To stop the invaders is to pull the dead hand off The Crown's neck; they pose a menace in our systems as well.
2. In the second place, we wish for legal recognition within Bretonia, as it would simplify all the paperwork and so on. Cardamine would not be a matter of our discussion, but we may develop an offer on this topic later, if a possible interest emerges. As we are a corporation, we would like to benefit from any possible investment, and we have financial interest in the dividends after the war that can bolster our economy.
3. Thirdly, after defeat of Gallia our parties can cooperate on military matters against Corsairs. Both our parties should benefit from this.
Ideally, we should discuss our rights for legal resource gathering operations in Taus, and also rights for a base there to serve us as a transport infrastructure node.
4. We would also like to develop and expand cooperation with Bretonian corporations with the support of Her Majesty's Government to improve trade flow between Bretonia and Malta.
In addition to the above, Bretonia could serve us both as a mediator and as a proxy lobby in negotiations, as not many parties, especially other Houses, appear to be suasible enough to talk directly to Malta.
Our hopes that such a collaboration would really bring together Bretonia and Malta. It is our interest to provide your people with quality goods.
As for now, our current requests are very simple: trade access to The Crown's domains, protection of our trade vessels by law, and, for the last, usage only of words "Maltese" and "Hispanic" in official documentation towards us, not "Outcast".
We eagerly await for Bretonian answer on our offer.
Met vriendelijke groet,
Lander van den Brink

Support against Gallia, regardless of what form it takes, is always appreciated, and greatly needed now more than ever. A long term partnership can be arranged although we have never had any real issue with Malta. Distance has been a problem as of late but something cannot be avoided.
Legal recognition can certainly be arranged by only after a period of time has passed during which time we may fully assess the behavior of your pilots and employees, the ethics of your business and of course the economic outcomes of your entry into the Bretonian market. It should be noted sir that at current, all pilots are legally allowed to carry up to 5 units of cardimine within their ships. Anything more is considered illegal. Such a policy is unlikely to change, however you are more than welcome to bring the topic up at a later date if you so choose.
The geopolitical situation after the war is something that should be left until the war is actually over. We are uncertain what the map will look like and thus Her Majesties Government will refrain from commenting on or promising anything in regards to the Tau region. This holds true to any possible economic development of the region, which will likely be unsafe and politically unstable at the end of the war.
Bretonia would be more than happy to support Maltese diplomacy in anyway it can if that is what you wish, although we would certainly welcome more details as to that suggestion.
Your requests that your trading and merchant fleets be accorded protection are acceptable, we would direct you to the Bretonian Police Authority in regards to restricted goods, licenses and any charges you may wish to press regarding your time in Bretonia. Likewise, your request to be referred to as 'Maltese' or 'Hispanic' is also acceptable and henceforth all official documents will refer to your people as such.
