The Fall of Toulouse Roussillon - Provence
Combat and Trade Event
OVERVIEW
For the Council, it is a day they prepared for, but hoped would never come. For the Royalists, it is the opposite - a chance for inspiring victory, but until recently, one they could not have predicted. The failed strike on Issoudun has led the Montmorency and her battlegroup straight to the Council's door, and now the men and women of the Royal Navy fleet find themselves tasked with one simple order - prosecute the traitors and terrorists who threaten the Crown. For those onboard, and for those watching the broadcasts at home in Gallia, this is a day of triumph, a stepping stone on the path to stability and civility once more.
Planetside, however, the situation is dire. As civilians living under the Council scramble for any way off Toulouse, the remaining command staff are finalizing their plans. First, a makeshift merchant marine of various craft will handle the evacuation of refugees to Cannes, in Provence. The Minarchy there has accepted the Council's request for accommodation, so long as the credits continue to clear. On their return trip, what Council funding remains trades hands under the table for active nuclear devices, supplied by the seedy underbelly of Monte Carlo.
As the Pamiers squares off against the Montmorency in an eleventh-hour defense of the planet, the Council prepares to enact their survival strategy. Their cooperation with elements principally legal in Gallia - most notably, the IMG - is written into the habitats and etched into the dirt of Toulouse. The only way to maintain those connections is to bury them, and any hope of short-term habitation planetside alongside them.
As the minute hand ticks ever closer to midnight for Toulouse, the Council is prepared to do whatever is necessary to ensure their survival, just as the Royal Navy readies itself to do the very same.
