Lisbon Station was constructed in the early 800s as the first line of defense for the then known Omicron-100 system. Stationed alongside Battleship Apophis, the station was declared as the headquarters for the Order within the system. Not much was known about what went on aboard the installation, but from evidence discovered recently there were signs of weapons tests and research into hull designs that later went on to be incorporated into the Order's 'Thebes'-class Megadreadnought.
In the mid 810s, Lisbon Station became the defensive line for the Order against a large invading Core force. While the raid was short-lived, the damage was extensive, and crippled the station into non-operation, forcing the Order to move their command staff to nearby Fort Carthage. The station would remain in idle until the Legacy of Orillion cell came upon the wreckage in late 825 A.S., and began work on rebuilding it. Over months of hard effort and support by their allies, the Legacy cell was able to finally rechristen the station and bring her back online.
Lisbon today now serves as the primary headquarters for the Legacy of Orillion cell, and as the main port of call for her Omicron fleet. O.C.V. Kepler and O.C.V. Orion stand guard on the perimeter, and are planned to remain vigilant over the station while the rest of the system is brought under control.
Fleet Assets
Lisbon Station is currently the home of the Omicron Defense Flotilla, a proto-armada consisting of the Legacy cell's endeavours to reach a critical mass and to ensure the safety of the core systems. Slowly being tooled into a shield and a sword against the alien advance, most of the Legacy cell's firepower is manufactured at Sicca Shipyard, the dual-segment installation attached to Fort Carthage. In time, the cell has plans to construction drydocks on Lisbon proper, allowing for the ease of maintenance of the Order's home fleet, serving more as a repair yard than a proper construction facility.
O.C.V. Casper Orillion is the current flagship of this flotilla, and operates as the Legacy cell's primary hub of command for the Omicron Sector. Her compliment is currently under mass construction at Sicca, following the Legacy cell's ascension into overt operations. The Omicron Defense Flotilla is overseen by Dr. Stephen Callahan. Research and Development
Lisbon Station is also home to the Legacy cell's efforts in R&D for the Order as a whole. From Nomad-based technology adaptations to the incorporation of scanner technologies into Order equipment, Lisbon Station's intensive R&D wing hosts a wide range of potential developments, yet keeps expanding with every scientist that is brought aboard to join in the effort. Her compliment currently stands at about 275 personnel, primarily assigned to bioengineering research as well as efforts into engineering adaptation.
Lisbon's R&D section is currently headed by Major Fina Smith (// @Cortana Clark), and maintains a mobile development platform that operates out of Lisbon.
